- Sex should be an extension of the characters and communication between the parties. It gets boring if it's not specific to their dynamic.
- Avoid commonly used metaphors. Try to use metaphors that make sense with regards to the POV character, the setting, etc.
- Emotions and fantasy are also a big part of sex. Like the specific acts are less important than why it's arousing for that POV character. 1/🧵

Finished reading #LordOfScoundrels by Loretta Chase and I found it 2.5/5. Just overall meh. I had to slog through the sexy times and some of Chase's wording brought to mind the book was not written in this century, and I was right: 1995. Who knew #Smut had a expiration date? Not sure what prompted me to read this? Probably read somewhere it was a rec since Chase is considered a grand dame of #Romance. Do not think I'll read more of her work.
