Today is China's National Day, and a #SocialistSunday. As the largest socialist country, whether #China can be prosperous and in harmony is important to the world.
If we compare China with many other countries, especially many #capitalist ones, China seems on right track: most people's lives are improving, ecological environment is improving, education, tech, economy... are all improving, though still not perfect.

I've noticed that #SocialistSunday is almost exclusively used by UK accounts.
We need more solidarity in Canada and the US but I think far too many people here are still scared to identify as socialist or even as leftist. They prefer "progressive". The problem is progressive is kind of meaningless and we currently have supposedly progressive govts and things are still getting worse not better.

The Tory/Labour panic summit on how we must maintain the illusion of Brexit but wringing hands over how to limit the damage of Brexshit. Its NOT going to work. Tinkering at the edges of mitigating against our own self imposed exclusion is still not acting in the national interest. Be honest about the harm with the electorate would be a good start.
The wealthy would sooner face the end of civilisation as we know it, than give up on exploiting everyone else for their never ending profit machine.
Capitalists are little different from monarchists, in that they they take a patriarchal view to those below them.
Both view the workers as their naïve children who don't truly know how the world works, and thus must be protected from the "burdens" of wealth by removing any opportunity to accrue it.
