There are well over a thousand land surveyor’s offices in #OpenStreetMap, but only two have been mapped in the #SouthBay so far. Actually just one; the other is in the aerial imagery flyover business, but I guess we couldn’t think of a better tag for it. It didn’t help that, until a couple years ago, the “office=surveyor” tag was defined as the office of a pollster, who also conducts surveys. Oof.
What if OSM’s #micromapping tendencies could complement the #surveying industry? What do we have to learn from surveyors’ precise methods? Join us tonight for another South Bay Map Night where we can brainstorm these ideas and anything else that comes to mind.

San Jose Animal Care and Services is full, and they're calling for help from the Bay Area community to adopt or foster one of their animals.
San Jose ACS no longer has the capacity to take in healthy dogs or cats. As of Tuesday, the animal shelter has more than 900 animals, with 745 of them being kittens.
