I’m back being my daughters ‘help get you a internship or experience in a lab’ coach!
Thanks for all the offers of help last time. She didn’t find anything but I’ve since understood a lot more about what she wants to do - more chemistry than biology apparently, immunology research related and (if by some miracle someone in this network is connected) ideally at #Stanford biosciences department which is close to Foothill community college where she’s studying. There was a program being run for an internship which was exactly that - helping community college students get experience at Stanford but sadly she didn’t get in.
So if you can help a very hard working, keen student get some hands experienced in this field, let me know - she’s here, waiting, and trying not to get too deflated during the search. 😊

I just hope someone at ESPN, Fox Sports, or the various conferences feels some shame at the thought that they’re effectively kicking the winner (by 29 points!) of the Rose Bowl just seven years ago out of Power Five football, because they’re not a big enough TV draw. Reading that article about how sleazy college football has become, with third-party groups lining up NIL deals for athletes as if they were big-time sports agents, I’m ready to say cut the fucking cancer entirely. #Stanford should just drop football altogether and fund the rest of its sports programs — the genuine sports, at which it excels — from the university’s enormous endowment.
