#StarRealms hat mich wieder in seinem Bann. Fordere mich gerne zu einer Partie raus.

Ich spiele Star Realms deutlich lieber mit weniger Kartensets aktiviert. Die Commander Decks und Events zum Beispiel machen es zu so einem Standard Deckbuilder für mich und das Spiel verliert die einfache Eleganz, die ich so schätze.

Danach gab's noch paar Runden #LovecraftLetter und #StarRealms. Bei Star Realms hab ich 2 Spiele gewonnen, eines verloren. Meine gewonnenen waren witzig weil ich den Gegenspieler jeweils auf genau 0 HP gebracht hab.

I have a new gem tied for second favorite card game ever (2nd place shared with: The Crew, Scout, Love Letter, Arboretum, Dominion, Regicide, while the 1st remains: #StarRealms)
This was our first play with it but still! Freaking awesome game!

It was a great year in playing #boardgames though I need to develop some scripts to register my #starrealms plays - I have played more than a 1000 times last year too.

#AmPlaying #StarRealms. It’s good! Nice pacing, entirely reasonable context. Lots of little decisions that build up to something good (or fail miserably). Wish the theme was less military / war oriented but I get that constructive / cooperative game design didn’t have much expectations of economic success when it was published.

Playing #StarRealms against my son has become both a stressful and exhilarating exercise. I keep muttering to myself in my head, “this little….. “ when he throws down a 15-20 damage attack against me AND heals 9 in the same turn.

Bought a bunch of outposts today to defend against his barrage and it paid off at the last moment when I had 4 outposts defending my last 5 authority(health) 😰

Just have to hope he didn’t figure out my trick and try it himself next time we play.

Finally played #StarRealms in person (contrasted with digitally) this weekend. I had high hopes for it, since our most-played game is another deck-builder (#ValleyOfTheKings). But, I think Valley spoiled us. Star Realms may be simpler to set up and put away, but it can be brutally difficult to dig out of some bad luck at the beginning of the game, and the defending player is just a passive object, while Valley allows some active defense.

One of my all-time favorites has to be #Dominion, the #Deckbuilding #game by #DonaldXVaccarino.

Other games I do quite enjoy include #SmallWorld, #Carcassonne, #RaceForTheGalaxy, #EpicCardGame, #StarRealms, #Catan and #Ascension.

I haven't played #Splendor, #7WondersDuel and #TinyEpicKingdoms that much yet but they seem fun as well.

But #DominionCardGame #DominionGame has to be my number one for sure!

Hey #GeekSocial, anyone have #boardgames or #cardgames recommendations that a 6-year-old could get into? We've been playing #StarRealms and #PokemonTCG but would love to expand that out a bit.

Preferably games that can play out in half an hour or so, or at least give a sense of achievement at least every half hour. #tabletop

#introduction W00t thanks to @stvslkt for letting me onto the server, I'm excited to be here! I definitely feel way more at home somewhere that's #anime and #gaming focused. Life's too busy to keep up with much nowadays, but I've been dabbling in #arknights, #PokemonTCG, and #StarRealms. Favorite recent anime is #LycorisRecoil. And I've never missed a #PaxEast.

One thing I left out of my #Introduction the other day is that I love #BoardGames! My wife has three separate board game groups to meet her insatiable appetite for gaming, but I prob only play one per week.

Es gibt mehrere Promos, aber eine bekommt man nur wenn man #HeroRealms installiert hat, und ein paar weitere nur wenn man was kauft. Finde ich etwas doof, denn ich habe sowohl von Hero Realms als auch von #StarRealms quasi alles, und die anderen Produkte (#Sorcerer und #KAPOW) interessieren mich nicht.

Eine Promo gibt's aber so.

#Mindbug ist ein Kartenspiel, das an #MTG und z.B. #StarRealms erinnert, aber extrem gestreamlined wurde, so dass es in wenigen Minuten erklärt ist und so gut wie kein Setup braucht. Es gibt kein Deck Building, Kein TCG / CCG, keine Resourcen. Nur Kreaturen, die angreifen / blocken.
Der Clou: Jeder Spieler hat zu Beginn zwei Mindbugs. Beim Ausspielen einer Karte (und nur dann) kann der Gegner entscheiden, einen Mindbug einzusetzen um die Karte in Besitz zu nehmen.

Spielt hier jemand #StarRealms?

Gestern übrigens eine sehr gelungene #Gamenight gehabt. Wir haben paar Runden #Darts gespielt, dann #StarRealms und #LovecraftLetter. Zuletzt kann dann das erste Mal so richtig #Etherfields auf den Tisch. Sehr geil. Die beiden Mitspieler sind auch ganz gespannt darauf wie's weitergeht, weitere Termine sind terminiert.

Hab allerdings nicht dran gedacht ein Foto zu machen, also hier eines von meinem leeren Tisch. Das Spiel müsst ihr euch einfach dazudenken

I hugely appreciate how Star Realms is a card battle game with very clearly defined rules and layout. Its setup is so simple that it can be used to understand other card battle games.

I've played Ascension before. It looked pretty interesting, but I didn't fully grok how it should be exactly played. Not much later I discovered Star Realms and have been playing that a lot ever since.

Now I'm trying out Ascension again. This time they have a tutorial (I just don't remember it being there last time), and I used Star Realms as reference. That made understanding Ascension SO MUCH easier!

All those various groups in Ascension; Enlightened, Lifebound, Mechana, Void.. they're comparable to the factions in Star Realms. The Mystics, Heavy Infantry, etc? That's similar in idea to Explorers. And the Constructs? Those are bases, plain and simple. Just an extra in this game are Monsters, but once you got the rest down that's not too hard a concept to grasp either.

Once I realized those similarities, I've been able to really enjoy playing Ascension. I can actually go explore the various DLCs now that the game has, each one changes the gameplay a little. But the basics are there.

Playing Star Realms with a buddy to answer 'Does Mech World count as 2x faction for the Machine Cult when we draw a Double Ally Machine Cult card?'

We played the official digital game with Core and Frontiers in the deck.

After about an hour without drawing any red double ally card, he finally decided to check the card list what it would look like.

Turns out there are no red doubles in that deck at all! :P

Slowly getting enough of my buddies to play Star Realms, someday we oughta have a 4-player game going in Tabletop Simulator. Heck, maybe even 2-headed giant! (Which they call Hydra mode here, iirc). #StarRealms

While I was in the city today I visited both game stores and acquired a physical copy of Star Realms. :)
Alas, neither had Star Realms Frontiers, I guess I'll have to order that one off the internet. #StarRealms

Huh, it's pretty obvious that I'm getting pretty familiar with Star Realms play now. Buddy and me did a quick game in Tabletop Simulator. And with quick I really mean quick. Barely any chat at all, we just... did our thing.

Played a round of Star Realms against an (NPC) boss. Team play. So 2 players against Nemesis Beast in this case.

That... was surprisingly fun. More fun than expected. Us two having to work together, discussing which cards to purchase and which abilities to use.

In the end, alas, the boss won. Just 2 damage short of beating him. Great game. :) #Games #StarRealms

I'm actually pleasantly surprised by the game mechanics of Star Realms. Gave me some Ascension vibe, but slightly more direct in gameplay. Not bad for a Free-To-Play game. Might eventually buy the DLCs for some more different mechanics. #Games #StarRealms
