I forgot to mention, the swag exchange began once we got past the gate. There's a tradition that started last yr where passengers would bring little in-universe items to share while on-board.

I have these zinc-alloy "New Republic" credits that I brought along to share. They were a hit with kids in particular who loved Sabacc & started learning Aurebesh with it.

It is. You have to go through metal detectors & down the boarding hall to view the intro video in groups. We were of course the 1st group & had our photos taken at the Chandrila logo.

The crew member that gave us our intro before boarding the Halcyon was a fun-loving dork of the highest degree & would joke around with the passengers as we waited. With an occasional photo bomb.

The 1st thing you notice while waiting to board the #StarWars #GalacticStarcruiser is the concrete 'gate'. It's got a Magic Band reader & a fingerprint reader & people fly thru it at 12:30PM. (You receive your M-bands the moment you get in line.)

The line builds FAST. Lots of people behind us are decked out in full Star Wars regalia. Everyone is elated - even the moneybags 'NY Investment Broker' behind us who got Grand Captain's Suite. His family is First Order, of course. (But I kid.) 🤣

As we stepped out of the car, CSL porters immediately grabbed our bags & attached CSL tags to them while a crew member spoke to the party leader (me) about our name & details.

We immediately gravitated to getting our photo taken in front of the famed #StarWars #GalacticStarcruiser entry wall then got in line.

We discovered we were the SECOND party in line. The FIRST party was a couple from the 501st. Wow - HARDCORE. 😁 We promptly began to bond by NERDING TF OUT, laughing every 15 seconds.

Note: Upon approach to the #StarWars #GalacticStarcruiser, "Chandrila Star Lines Security" stops & inspects the car. I preempted the guard as she approached with:

"We have no blasters or firearms of any kind. We don't smoke, have nothing flammable & sabers are hilts only, blades removed. We've read & accept the rules of liability."

She laughed heartily, speed-read some boilerplate in sub-10 seconds (she said it was mandatory) & said, "Very well-prepared, by the way... best journey!"

I'm really hoping to finish up and post a longform vid by the end of next weekend but we'll see...

That thing about wearing the M-Band & it "allowing you to interact w/ the #StarWars #GalacticStarcruiser cast"...

Our belief is that the cast wears portable RFID transceivers that can detect passenger M-bands within 3ft & start messaging them. Only those that have engaged the characters receive notifications to participate in their adventures. This is why everyone's experiences are different.

Even if you're silent, you'll still be messaged by 1-2 characters on the Datapad app to get involved.

I've been reading the wikipedia page on Magical Realism, and I have a theory now that:

a) the original trilogy fits more into the "Space Opera" subgenre of sci-fi, which is more of a Magical Realist setting than hard sci-fi, specifically because no attempt was made to explain the Force (this is called authorial reticence for anybody who cares).

Accessing the Atrium terminals via your M-band on the #StarWars #GalacticStarcruiser is very important as some adventures or missions start & are aided there.

It'll tell you what physical access you have on the ship & if your M-band will open certain areas.

It's not good enough to ride the coattails of others: You have to accomplish the missions or other 'experiences' don't appear for you.

This is some of what makes the #Halcyon experience similar to an elaborate "Escape Game".

Every #StarWars #GalacticStarcruiser passenger receives & wears a unique, passengers-only Disney Magic Band. (or "M-band" as it's referred to by cast & crew) It's used for:
✅ Accessing your cabin (i.e. your room key)
✅ Activating the Halcyon's very-important Atrium & in-cabin terminals
✅ Interacting w/ cast members
✅ "Anytime" Lightning Lane access to Rise of the Resistance & Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run.
✅ Any purchases in Batuu or on the Halcyon ("Chandrila Collection", "Sublight Lounge")

Ever notice how some shows seem 'forced' & dialogue comes across as lacking nuance or having all the sublty of a 5 year old?

That's some of the differences between good & bad writing & it's quantifiable.

My FFG #StarWars players will infiltrate the insidious cyber-brain-implant manufacturer Ron-Rill Corporation. Research Tower Grek is inside a huge atoll 2700 miles in diameter. The atoll houses no ciritical infrastructure but a huge amount of surface to air missile emplacements. Research, manufacturing and residential facilities are situated in the center island.

When you're in orbit around Batuu on the #StarWars #GalacticStarcruiser, your view from your cabin is phenomenal. We stared in awe at the windows forever.

You can see moving ships in orbit, movement around the planet & of course the in-room display reflects your arrival.

One of the exclusives every passenger sees on display is the #StarWars #GalacticStarcruiser Training Light Saber. It's available in the "Chandrila Collection" and it ain't cheap.

It's substantially lighter than the sabers from Savi's but it takes the same saber blade, although it rotates into the hilt the opposite direction like the Legends hilts do. It's also customizable with an Aurebesh letter that's supplied in the case.

It seemed to work a little wonky with my custom blade from JayMoo.

If R2D2 is telling you to be nice then just be nice.

Some time ago, a friend gave me this #StarWars #funko #funkopop of #HanSolo in the #MilleniumFalcon . Cool, right? The weird thing is that the box it came in said Star Wars - Bird of Prey. Um, bird of prey would be a #Klingon ship from #StarTrek. What the heck?

We're wondering if there was some kind of translation issue where they keyed on "falcon" & that somehow became just "bird of prey".

Not sure how long Han would survive on a Klingon ship. I think they'd be harder to con than Imperials.
