Need a t-shirt with “Kier #Starmer Kid Starver hearts Maggie #Thatcher Milk Snatcher” to wear to the club next time I am in London in order to offend the largest number of arts patrons possible. might sell them on etsy to spread the love

Press quote: ..."Protest planned for Keir Starmer's visit to Scotland over Gaza stance"

News outlets always seem to call #Starmer Keir Starmer...

is the "Sir" part of his title dropped at his/his party's request to give the impression he is just an ordinary person?

#asking4afriend

#cynical... #erminegrubber...#Redtory...

@alastair @riggbeck @OliverNoble

No doubt there's a strong feeling even in the #Tory party that the electorate just want them gone regardless of what they say & do right now, however there's a difference

#Starmer did a tour of #Europe & spoke about "Closer ties". The #Tories screamed #Labour were planning to reverse #Brexit & what was the result? Labour gained 4 points in the polls

The fact remains that Labour isn't the only party on offer. It's not about a Tory loss, it's about a Labour win

@riggbeck @OliverNoble

#Starmer values power because he understands the simplicity of you can't achieve anything without it?

What part of that don't you understand?

So again, the #UK had it's opportunity in 2019 to cast its vote on Corbyn's vision for the country. What happened?

Also, what makes you believe if #Starmer travelled the same policy road as #Corbyn did, he'd achieve a different result? 🤔

@OliverNoble @riggbeck

Because to do otherwise is playing straight into the #Tories hands. You just can't seem to compute the ramifications, hence why #Labour suffered the biggest General Election dry bumming in history the last time around.

That's where doing it your way got us. FIVE more years of #ToryCorruption.

Will you ever connect the dots, or is your hatred of #Starmer so blinding that you seriously can't see the wood for the trees?

Oli

@AnthonyFStevens @riggbeck I am referring to the statements, actions and inaction of #Labour under #Starmer

They are true "tory enablers" by utterly failing to oppose the tories, failing to offer any alternative vision, and failing to stand for anything

#Starmer repeatedly states how little he would change - #reeves too

I fear that cowardice and indecision will become a habit and the next labour government will just be an impotent place-holder til the tories return

The advert was from 2019 & had nothing to do with Starmer. My point is merely things are even worse for the UK in 2023, than in 2019.

So again, the #UK had it's opportunity in 2019 to cast its vote on Corbyn's vision for the country. So what happened?

Also, what makes you believe if #Starmer travelled the same policy road as #Corbyn did, he'd achieve a different result?

@TallVenti @riggbeck

It's why those who get Labour's tactics mustn't lose heart with the constant attacks from the right & left, & keep our eyes on the prize of gaining power.

All the Tories have got is "Stop the Boats" & the blummin "Elgin Marbles". 🙄

Let's give them nothing! #Labour are no longer the party of naivety they were in 2019.

They've become street smart & politically savvy, & this is why Doris, Dizzy Lizzy, nor Sink have been able to lay a glove on #Starmer.

Anthony Stevens 🇪🇺 🇯🇲 💙

@riggbeck

If Corbyn's message was so effective, why did #Labour suffer the heaviest General Election bludgeoning in political history?

It wasn't so much Corbyn's message, it was the messenger, but for those on the left they'd rather lose the election with #Corbyn as leader, than win with #Starmer as leader

The country had it's say & roundly rejected Corbyn like no other political leader before him

He lost the #Brexit vote. He Lost in 2017. He lost in 2019. That's the only legacy that counts

🚨* I've just happened across this chilling Labour Party advert from 4 years ago, released days after the 2019 General Election was announced.

What this valiant Senior Citizen said then, is even more relevant today. It shows the #UK's rapid 13 year decline under #Tory governance.

Regardless of how some feel about #Starmer, concentrate your mind on how you'd feel come 29th Jan 2025, if you saw a gurning #Sunak stood on the steps of No 10, instead of Sir Keir?

An adviser to Mr Tarry pushed back on the suggested edit and replied:

 But Sir Keir's aide insisted the reference be removed to "focus on the

@els76uk

I am not sure #starmer actually makes these statements to win more votes - I think he's pointing where he is going when he is PM - & it is not to become "Thatcherite" as some hysterics are posting, given he also referenced Attlee and Blair - but intended to suggest he is firm of purpose - with I suspect a side-benefit of shaking off any lefties who still imagine #labour is there to indulge their dreams of creating a socialist utopia rather than govern with competence

This analysis of Keir Starmer's tactics is en pointe… he needs to stop trying to win votes, and focus on not losing them. However much he praises Thatcher, some people will never vote for him – but many may decide not to!

"Every moment of meaningful change in modern British politics begins with the realisation that politics must act in service of the British people, rather than dictating to them.

Margaret Thatcher sought to drag Britain out of its stupor by setting loose our natural entrepreneurialism.

Tony Blair reimagined a stale, outdated Labour Party into one that could seize the optimism of the late 90s...

I've just had an email from a friend who has been a Labour Party member for 45 years, an ex-councillor, and a recent council candidate.
She has always been on the left of the party and hung on in the hope she could make a difference.
She has finally made the decision to leave as there are virtually no policy areas where her views are represented. I quote:

We really need to ask who is behind this wheelbarrowing-out of the AS accusation, every time Israel becomes bloodthirsty. 'Labour Friends of Israel', a lobby group? Or Starmer's family bias?
