Doraemon: Story of Seasons (Switch): COMPLETED!
It’s been a while since I went cold turkey on Animal Crossing, so I thought I’d inject a bit of something similar when this came up on sale on the Switch eShop. Apparently it’s the first Doraemon game to be officially localised for the West, but it’s also a Story of Seasons (née Harvest Moon) crossover title.

Playing some more Story of Seasons: Wonderful Life, and things are going more smoothly with upgrades. My farm is earning money (ahhh the fantasy of gaming). I'm using it as a second screen game, with a movie/podcast/my screaming household as the other focus.
Now to buy Rune Factory 3, brb....
I am slogging through "Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life" and it is a struggle. So boring and repetitive, so slow, lots to do but it feels pointless. Yes, I can fish but is that enough?

I’ve been really enjoying #StoryOfSeasons #PioneersOfOliveTown. It’s a fresh take on farm sims, with a lot of quality of life improvements on top of the solid gameplay of its #HarvestMoon roots.
From being able to raise crops in winter, to having access to livestock tools immediately — so many small things add up to make the experience one of the smoothest farming rides I’ve ever had. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this game as much as I have.

I picked up #StoryOfSeasons: #PioneersOfOliveTown as my next cozy nighttime game. I was surprised to see how similar mechanics were to #StardewValley and #AnimalCrossing. It’s been fun.
I've been playing through Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life and the one thing that makes me kind of disappointed in the game is how small the map is, and how little there is to do in the game other than farm a little, fish, dig for artifacts, and harass the villagers to increase the affection and friendship levels. I'm barely in Summer of the 1st year, so maybe it opens up later, but currently it's pretty monotonous, even 5 hours in.
The other farming/sim games I've played (Atelier, Stardew Valley, Ooblets, Potion Permit, Sakuna) all had pretty fun systems with just the farming/crafting.
If relationships are the main goal in this game, they should have made the process of getting to know the characters more engaging than just "here take 5 things I think you'll like".
#FarmingSim games have such an appeal to me...
Yes I too would love to make a living off of 3 carrots, 5 potatoes and 2 eggs. Whilst everyone in town is super pleasant and I get to romance everyone.
And no stress about taxes.

I have reached summer in Story of Season: A Wonderful Life. It is moving faster and slower than I'm used to: only 10 days a season, but not too much to do each day.
I have a fishing rod now, so I can make extra cash without using all my stamina. Fishing in the summer rain, very soothing.
Started the Story of Seasons remake and it's okay, I guess. I'm worried about my cow.
The physical game came with a manual, so I'm going to see if there are tips.

What I'd really like in #StoryOfSeasons and #StardewValley is if on the last few days of a season, when you're not gonna successfully farm anything from that season (idk spring 28?) the store starts selling next season's seeds.
I really think it would make a nice feature!
I think Rune Factory is an exception to this because I'm pretty sure I can buy all season seeds year-round. In rune factory it makes sense because there's ways to farm your winter crops in summer, etc.
It doesn't need to go as far as Rune Factory, but just some acknowledgement I want to sow my seeds at 6 am, not 11 am, (or not at all because there was a festival :blobangery: )
