Jakiś czas temu pomyślałem więc, że przydałaby mi się lista komiksów, którą mógłbym w takich okolicznościach wyciągać, pytać: "Więc mówisz, że kiedyś w komiksach nie było polityki? A pamiętasz jak w....?", przywoływać losowy rok i wskazywać na odpowiadającą mu historię z elementami (w szerokim rozumieniu) politycznymi.
A że nikt takiej listy za mnie nie zrobi, zacząłem robić ją sam.
Tak więc, nie przedłużając, otwieram cykl wpisów "Więc mówisz, że kiedyś w komiksach nie było polityki?".
Formuła jest prosta – jeden rok, jedna historia, zwięzły opis. Startujemy w 1938 roku, w chwili narodzin komiksu superbohaterskiego, a zakończymy na 2001 roku.
Planuję publikować jeden taki wpis dziennie, tak więc jeśli nie będę miał obsuw, skończę na początku sierpnia (później przerobię serię na jeden zbiorczy wpis blogowy, a może i na nagranie wideo).
Lećmy więc!

A pamiętasz, jak w 1938 roku Superman postanowił dać nauczkę właścicielowi kopalni, który nie zapewniał górnikom bezpiecznych warunków pracy, słabo im płacił i mówił, że jeśli im się nie podoba, mogą odejść?

I'm spinning up a #hobby #LiveStream using an old Facebook Page I created for #ComicBook VS Debates. By combining original storylines like something out of #ProWrestling with an impartial booker in the form of #mugen, I have created the formula for an entertaining spectacle.
Last night, I ran the premier on the page called Visions of Battleworld. I had an absolute blast hosting, and I reached out to some old friends for support and they all showed up. The show of solidarity was heartening, especially as someone who suffers from #rsd.
For the Event Card, I decided to begin with a tournament to crown an inaugural champion - the Battleworld Universal Heavyweight Champion. I designed a belt in #StableDiffusion, which the winner will be awarded. The program I'm using to simulate the fights contains 416 #Marvel and #DC #comics characters contains a diverse mix of #SuperHeroes and #Villains with an even brand divide. We ran through the Quarter Finals, and funny enough (no, seriously you wouldn't have known watching each match individually all night) the Final Four are #Superman, #Doomsday, #Hulk, and #Thor. MUGEN runs the fights, best 2 out of 3. I've got no control over them.
Everything looked great, but there were significant issues with the #audio. As it turns out, in the 9 months since I'd used #OBS the StreamFX Plug-in went behind a paywall. My old scenes broke after I uninstalled the plug-in, so I had to start over and do my own Audio Filters. Now, I had relied on an old Stream Team leader to set my filters before, and I didn't take the time to learn how it works. Rushing the filters with only one YouTube tutorial, I forgot the most important piece of advice: Test thoroughly.
In my defense, I didn't know where exactly my energy levels would wind up. That's not an excuse for failing to do several test takes to adjust my settings. Full disclosure, I was in a weird head place about how I would do back on stream for the first time in 9 months. So, I fell victim to a bit of anxiety.
Ultimately, I watched back the VOD (something I never did in my #Twitch days), and have made thorough and tested adjustments for the next episode.

As for his top speed, the unofficial answer seems to be Superman outstrips every hero that isn't the Flash/tied to the Flash... basically "ludicrous speed minus <varying number>." Superman's no slowpoke, despite what some fans insist ("Flash would blow him away!").
Besides, IMO it's Flash's vibratory powers (which Supes lacks) that sets his speed apart, and makes Flash stories what they are: "vibrate through walls/turn invisible/a long list of ludicrous stuff I've seen." 🙂
Still amusing that leaping over a tall building is still listed as a main ability in his introductory spiel, despite being able to fly. "Keep pace with, or somewhat slower than, the Flash! Bench press the Sears Tower! Um... jump over that building!"
Recall the Bugs Bunny cartoon parodying Superman made fun of building leaping, among everything else. Bugs' line after learning he has powers: "You mean able to leap the highest buildings, etc. etc.?" 🙂

We grew up with the myth of the #astronaut #superman. Today, anyone with a little courage and adequate financial resources can fly into #space. After all, this has been happening in #aviation for years. One good thing is the program of @esa for disabled astronauts.
Definitely true. I was addressing the large corporate #superhero characters of the #DCU and the #MCU, espec #Superman, #Batman, and #CaptainAmerica, as they are the ones discussed most prominently in the articles linked in this thread.
There has long been an reluctance in #ComicBooks and #superhero media to mention political topics. Other than #FrankMiller's original #DarkKnight stories, political stances were verboten, back to a #JFK cameo in 1963.
But instead of being viewed as an endorsement of liberal democrat policies by Big Blue, it incorrectly established #Superman as a conformist & establishmentarian.
And as #fascism has taken over establishment #GOP politics, he is now silenced by "bipartisanship."

Watched Superman Returns. With the exception of a couple scenes (bullet-eye, airplane), this movie was... kinda boring? It had some fun camp to it, particularly with Luther, but then had some BRUTAL scenes that felt gratuitous. It was a fine tribute to a bygone era I guess, but didn't bring the gas in the places it needed it. The Lois stuff was just so weird in so many ways.
Hard to watch this knowing what we do about Spacey and Singer as well.
