In Hamburg fand der #tdor2023 wieder unter großer Anteilnahme der Community statt. Adrian sprach und dann gingen wir alle mit Kerzen durch St. Georg zur Kirche. Dort wurden, nach einer Andacht von Thomas, die Namen unserer toten Geschwister verlesen und mit einer Schweigeminute ihrer gedacht.

Selon les chiffres de Human Right Campaign et Trans Murder Monitoring Project depuis un an, environ 321 personnes trans sont mortes du fait de la transphobie.

Some of them are just listed as "unknown" and it breaks my fucking heart.
Thinking about this 15-year-old trans boy, name unknown, who lived in Vietnam and took his own life on April 10, 2023 because his parents didn't supported him. His mother emotionally blackmailed him. He deserved better than all this.

#TransDayOfRembrance is on 20th November. I've just read the list and it has been one of the worst years for trans people who died due to transphobia. 392 known deaths (Africa, Large Parts of Asia and Russia don't tend to bring forward figures).
The Youngest was 12. The eldest was 98 and had been in a Nazi concentration camp during WWII for being trans. There is even a cis woman who was murdered because somebody THOUGHT she was trans.
If you can attend a memorial event near you on or around 20th, you'll be more than welcome whether trans or an ally.
Also please share details of your local events so others nearby know about them.
13-20 November is Trans Awareness Week, the 20th being the Trans Day of Remembrance.
Hatred comes from fear and fear comes from ignorance.

In 8 days, it is transgender day of remembrance where we remember those trans people who died due to transphobia in previous 12 months (That we know about as some places are difficult to get information from). There were 392 reported deaths due to transphobia in the year (1st October 2022 -September 30th 2023)
Read their remembrance cards and weep.
@PamCrossland me too ..the fact is that trying to write up cases right up to the date is both impossible and incredibly exhausting.
I'm tired enough just taking notes on newly reported cases as it is (those never stop - I triaged 100+ articles this morning in addition to spending 2 hrs researching and writing up several reports for #TDoR2023.
Around 30 memorial pages have been added this week alone, and by my reckoning there are probably around 20 or so still to do (assuming no surprises).
So please be kind when asking when the final list will appear - TGEU aren't ready to release their list yet, and the one I look after is intentionally a superset of theirs - which means I need a couple of days at least to go through the full data when everything settles. #TDoR #TDoR2023
I've spent pretty much all of my free time this week working on #TDoR2023 cases and now the weekend has finally arrived I am absolutely exhausted.
New cases are still being uncovered (just today I've learnt of several previously unknown suicide victims) and I'm trying to research those and write up the other outstanding cases as quickly as I can so organisers can prepare materials for their own #TDoR vigils.
