Just refactored the Telegram bot of @lhc. It was an interesting experience. First time using pyproject.yaml (and I noticed that the official docs are not so good, a bit incomplete), and deployment to fly.io (so easy!!!). https://github.com/lhc/lhc-telegram-bot

Why don't the instant messaging apps mute the notifications when there's a continuous exchange of messages in a conversation?
I'd like to receive a notification to know that some conversation has started, but, for heavens' sake, not for every message that is exchanged in the next x minutes! An x-minute mute by default on chain messages is what is needed...

Appka banku to samo, sprawdzam stan konta raz na tydzień, ale w danych usera gigabajty są, pewnie lokalizacja odświeżana co sekundę i transkrypcja mikrofonu z całego tygodnia, bankowy crapware rozpoznaje mnie nawet po formacie nie kupuje twierdzenia że root jest o kant dupy rozbić i niepotrzebny dziś
Switched from iMessage to Telegram again because iMessage often feels sluggish and only my wife and I were left there.
Now I realized there's no app for the Apple Watch? What the heck? When did this happen? In used it very often back then. Why is it gone? That's a huge bummer and makes Telegram much less useful.

Ich nutze #telegram aktuell nicht. Als ich das noch tat, hatte #forkgram immer schöne Extras. Eventuell hilft dieser oder ein anderer Fork, gegen den Story Müll.
Uff. Ich habe in #Telegram jetzt diese ätzenden #Stories, die mich nicht interessieren. Insbesondere Telegram selbst sendet mir darüber irgendwelchen Müll. Dann steht ständig über meinen Chats, ich hätte "1 Story". Ich möchte das weg kriegen. Ich hatte gehofft, wenn ich mir den Story-Müll ansehe, hätte ich danach die Möglichkeit, ihn irgendwie aus meinem Blickfeld zu löschen. Kann mir irgendwer sagen, wie das geht? Not only is there a report from last year showing they handed over data to the German police, but it was yesterday confirmed by a Freedom of Information request that the Dutch police was handed user data as well.

The #WebP buffer overflow bug that caused all the major browsers to issue patches earlier this week (e.g. #Firefox 117.0.1) also affects applications built with Electron. #1Password issued an update today for their Mac build.
The CVE affects the underlying webp library, not just web browsers, so this will be an ongoing issue.

Reminder that #Telegram is not secure communication. Most chats aren't end-to-end-encrypted to begin with, and even those that are use a strange custom-built algorithm rather than actual cryptographically sound algorithm such as the double-ratchet.
If you want actual secure communication, use #Signal, #Matrix, or even #WhatsApp (which is shit and will turn you in to the police but is still better than what Telegram).

I never understood the appeal of #ClubHouse. I created an account, stayed for a week or two & left. #X (then #Twitter) copied ClubHouse, & I saw people migrate there.

After my old "smartphone" went off, I can't communicate anymore with friends on PC, as both #signal and #telegram force me to scan "QR" with mobile device. I don't want to depend on a smartphone anymore!
I took some time testing different options and I am now bring my friends to #xmpp - stable, reliable protocol, you can use any clients you want either on PC or phone, and allows easy encryption and calls!
After moving from twitter to #fediverse, it is time to desert centralized apps, people!
