Aber auch wenn die Storys schon in fast jeder anderen SciFi Serie durch sind, hat man(n) immer noch was fürs Auge. :)

My 12yo daughter is a budding #sci-fi fan. She loved #TheAstronauts on #Nickelodeon. We are having great fun watching #SyFy's #TheArk. I want to introduce her to some more light tv. #Buffy is on the menu.
Can anyone recommend more age appropriate #scifi / #fantasy TV or movies to introduce her to?

William Hartnell has some really good final scenes. I like that the Doctor acknowledges that the Monoids were slaves of the humans and then treated the Humans as slaves. The idea that the cycle needs to be broken is a really effective message #DoctorWho #TheArk

I do like the basic idea behind this that visitors arrive in an alien society and spread a disease to which they have no immunity. Really good central concept but I just don't like the execution. I did last watch this in COVID lockdown and didn't like it then #DoctorWho #TheArk

I'm going to hazard a guess and say that in 10 million years the Earth might be a little bit different than today. Yet here we see regular looking people and animals exactly as they are in the 20th Century. I'm really not a fan of this at all. #DoctorWho #TheArk

I'm watching #TheArk and am on episode 7 now. Really feel like the show has gotten good over the last couple of episodes and is not just treading the same lost-in-space survival story points.

If you like bad SciFi, "The Ark" may be for you.
Bad: writing, directing, CGI, and understanding of science (or even Newtonian physics). This show exhibits many classic bad SciFi tropes, such as unnecessary and unrealistic sexualization of women.
All that said, I'm such a sucker for #SciFi I'm watching #TheArk despite all its many (many) shortcomings. It started to catch its (bad but better) groove by the 3rd or 4th episode.
I am REALLY enjoying Dean Devlin's new syfy show, #TheArk - it's a serialized problem-solving show and long-form mystery in SPACE! With some characters reminiscent of the Leverage roles, maybe.

I watched episode 1, and was severely disappointed in writing, acting, characters, backgrounds, and special effects. As a result, no further eps have been downloaded.
Now it’s up to episode 4. The seed/peer numbers indicate lotsa folks are dl-ing. I'm assuming they're watching, too.
Am I being too critical? Does it get better, or are later episodes also high school video club amateur hour?

If these people are the "best candidates" for to build an offworld colony we are truly doomed.
The characters are uninteresting and sloppy, some of there are annoying.
The smart girl, smart guy, handsome guy, the leader lady, the blondie chick , the shady woman, the all questioning manipulating guy,.... waaa all well known these tropes...
Nothing new under the sun.

#Spoilers So now a malfunctioning ship, that has also been hit by something (maybe meteors), that also had all of the senior staff in one location, and left with people who aren't the best train because the senior staff was also the mentors - oh and of course we don't have enough O2 to recharge all the helmets, and we have a O2 leak that no one knew about until it was almost too late. We have people who forged their way on board, and others that brought unauthorized soil..... #TheArk
I just watched the first episode of #TheArk - when I first heard about this, it sounded interesting - after seeing the first episode - I don't know - seems like they went out of the way to make it as hopeless as they could..... I'm not 100% sure about this but I don't think all of the senior officers would have been stored in the same location - almost like how they separate the President and the Vice President in times of crisis - you don't put all your egg in one basket.
