A couple of nights ago I dropped a glass dish on the kitchen floor and it broke into hundreds of tiny pieces 😿
I swept up what I could see and used a torch to help me find the pieces that I missed. The glass glinted in the light beam and located even tiny fragments.

What I'm dying to see out of #ProgrammingLanguages, #tools and #FOSS in the near future is even more package managers. You can never have too many package managers. We already have a different package manager per language, and considering everyone thinks this is so amazing, why stop there? If you're really serious about your project, if you dream that it may become Your Project Foundation one day, ship it with it's own package manager, and, hell, add a fancy new build system. The worst thing you could do is narrow your ambitions down to software that plays nicely within a greater universe of user tools, because you must seek to not to attract not users but rather Projectstaceans for whom the sky is the limit, an individual ecosystem is the only serious contemporary #FreeSoftware goal.

I have looked at quite a few tools/search engines powered by models like GPT-3/4, but perplexity.ai and phind.com i think are the best around, (i personally don't like Bing)
Perplexity even allows you a daily limited number of GPT-4 queries and has the Wolfram plugin, great for math queries.

It slices, it dices, it… cuts your fingernails? Opens… walnuts?
(In fairness, I have definitely trimmed a hangnail with flush cutters, but I wasn't going to literally advertise that.)
So I'm making my dad a personal website this weekend. It's extremely simple- static site, ~ 3 pages with some basic css. Links and text, maybe a single image.
I feel like every tool I'd each for is great at building complex or large sites, but I don't need that. I need "1 step above raw #HTML".
Right now my best idea is HAML and a build script (and manual #CSS).

Still packing up the boat! So far we've reached 3.2 m³ and counting. Can't say there isn't lots of stowage space aboard! :)
Here's my trusty general boat tool bag, weighing in at a sporty 17kg. It withstood the #CruisingLife well and didn't mind being lugged to fix other boats occasionally, although for the most part I just stuffed what I needed into a backpack instead.
So my gas lawnmower died and I took the plunge on a 40V Kobalt battery powered mower. While I can tell there's s little less torque it gets the job done just as well.
Then my chainsaw bit the dust and I bought a 40V Kobalt battery powered chainsaw. I was SUPER SKEPTICAL. A battery powered chainsaw? You've got to be kidding.
It's hands down the best chainsaw I've used. No fumes, pretty quiet, and the battery lasts a long time.

Is there a tool to which I could provide a list of the folks I follow, and my home instance, and see how many of them are on instances that block mine, or that mine blocks?
As server admins decide to defederate with each other over policy and behavior differences, I'd like to keep following folks, even if my admin decides their server is "bad."
