I'm still in Wales and yesterday on a narrow road was passed by a tanker from a small town heading in the opposite direction to me, A friend who is often on the road said it was a sewerage tanker taking it's load to dump at sea. Apparently it is a daily occurrence with that and other trucks making many daily runs. I would hesitate to say Govt. successive declarations & UTurns are the *only* reason for the UK's #investment problem but the FT is surely right that it is a major contributing factor....

The game plan is clear:
attack the public services via defunding & stressing the workforce;
use #austerity to claim money is tight, to reduce real wages;
claim: 'we'd like to run better public services, but we just can't get the staff'!
The #TUC has voted for a non-compliance motion on #Tories anti-strike laws (specifically minimum service requirements).
Sometimes the #RuleofLaw is maintained by not complying with unjust laws - maintaining through #civildisobedience that the idea of the rule of law is being violated by unjust laws themselves, which those protesting such injustice should break.
This political manoeuvre has a long pedigree, from #civilrights movements across history;
can the TUC can tap into that history?
But this was the Tories' intention all along, it's GOP style voter disenfranchisement right down to the Racism and Ableism.
