I see again and again, this argument from Transphobes that there has been this massive upswing in Transgender identity since 2017.
I point out that it is inevitable, Up into 2021, being Trans was becoming much more accepted so people who had lingered in the closet for their whole lives suddenly had the courage to come out.
Plus the Pause on the daily grind that was the 2020 Pandemic, gave people a chance at introspection and cracked a lot of eggs.

I took my youngest son to the Indiana BMV to get his ID card. As we were going through all the questions, the clerk asked what gender my son wanted on his ID card.
I thought that was nice of them to ask!
Obviously, it was overreach for transgender Americans to ask for the unalienable rights outlined in the Constitution. Apparently, we fall outside the “straight white men only have rights club” in that document, and we, therefore, have to beg and plead for our rights.

Als ich vorgestern mal wieder aufm Amt saß, zitierte eine der anwesenden Personen amgeblich aus ebenjener Anweisung. Was mich betrifft, existiert diese jedoch nicht, weil sie sonst was hätte vorlesen können, da ich es nicht selbst bestätigen konnte. Ich wurde also aufgrund einer Information abgelehnt, die mir nicht zugänglich gemacht wird. Wir haben Informationsfreiheit in Deutschland.

Many people, usually intolerant haters, incorrectly refer to Pride as a holiday or compare it to national holidays authorized by local, state, and federal government. While the government may support Pride events, this does no make Pride a holiday.
Pride is a celebration of the LGBTQ community and organized by members from with the LGBTQ community who work with local governments to ensure safety for everyone.
This is something to consider next time someone bemoans Pride as a holiday for "them". We are a community celebrating our identity and ourselves, and we are Proud.

It's similar to the anti-vaxx parent movement in its science denialism & desire for purity (in this case, purging the "trans" from their child at all costs).

quotes from the proposed law:
medical staff is prohibited from performing medical procedures aiming for changing one's sex, including forming primary and/or secondary sexual characteristics of the opposite sex
medical procedures, aiming for correcting sexual development anomalies in children are allowed by the decision of a medical commission
this law proposes to abolish changing one's legal gender based on the sex change certificate

moreover, nobody will be able to get gender affirmative care, including both hormonal and surgical treatment which will lead to severe mental health issues and suicide rate increase
trans people are the ones our government has decided to throw under a bus for no apparent reason and the consequences will be devastating
there's nothing we can do, Yan Dvorkin, a notable trans activist, wrote in his telegram channel that the decision has been made and now they just need to consolidate it legislatively
nevertheless, they didn't abolish forced surgeries on intersex children and if the doctors and parents happen to choose the wrong gender, the child will have to live with it forever as there will no procedures to fix it
