It can’t go up front; there’s already: one Cottonwood, two Hazelnuts, two Choke Cherries, two Elderberries, a Slippery Elm, and a Maple. Lining the driveway: one Bigleaf Maple, one Japanese Maple, one Oak, one Ponderosa Pine, a Walnut, and a Photinia. So… somewhere in back, with the Apples, Pears, Walnuts, Hazelnuts, Cherries, Plums, Quince, Medlar, the ancient Willow, an Oak, the Fig, and Witch Hazel.
(Had to edit a few times, as I wander around looking for a spot).

I finally repotted the volunteer saplings in the larger pots. I think they’re elm, but not sure. I had them growing in the begonia planters for a few years. We’ll see how it goes.

Several oak trees were killed last autumn along a path I walk, where private land meets a nature reserve. The private landowners needed to build an awful barbed wire fence apparently, in addition to stripping the land bare anywhere near it. So I planted some of the acorns that were left behind. Meet Baby Oak. (And fuck that new metal fence, actually.) (Except not literally I guess)

I've been known to hug a few trees in my time. I honestly feel like trees have healing energy and at the very least can calm a person down when they're stressed. So I have a growing collection of tree artwork because working on tree art also feels like a healing thing to do.

Sunny background, with one of my favourite hugging trees, sitting in the centre of the picture. This aged Cedar has obviously been here for many years, standing proud. Over time, some large branches have been lost, however, this magnificent specimen remains firm in the ground, appearing proud.

I'm a bit of a #hippie — I go #barefoot much of the time, don't have a smartphone (#NoSmartphone?), and am mostly #vegetarian. And I have a deep respect and love of #nature and its systems, even the uncharismatic parts.

I think #FreeSpeech is super important, but that it comes with the responsibility to #BeKind to others in the process.
