Ein weiterer imposanter Baum am #thicktrunktuesday. Im Bild eine #Stieleiche (Quercus robur) aus dem Klosterpark des Zisterzienserklosters #Wienhagen bei Celle, #Niedersachsen. Laut Aufzeichnungen des Klosters erfolgte die Pflanzung im Jahr 1645! Die #Eiche hatte 2022 einen Umfang von 5,31 m und eine Höhe von 21 m.

Autumn Blues

This image was made about a week ago in Epping Forest, right at the end of the day. It was practically dark, with just the last of the light peaking through to light the trunk of this beautiful ancient beech pollard. It's an absolutely huge tree, measuring a good 5-6m around its belly.

To give an idea of how dark it was, I shot the image at 8s, f/8 @ ISO3200.

The early signs of autumn
