I want to create a brand for a fictional film festival, and it will include a branding, and I am a the moment where I chose colors.
But now: should I use saturated colours or not?
I am thinking about using a palette or around colours with a given context. I want it to be eye-catching but at the same time, not eye-burning, over-stimulating.
What would be a good way to do it?

Agilists believe that finished software is not only the best way to deliver value, but also the best way to learn and iterate.

I feel good about the way the location search works (and it even accounts for cases where a user might want to use their own input as a location instead of a preloaded one).

I can see why limiting fields to a max length is good practice. What I can't understand is why someone would limit password fields to 16 characters.

Laddering is a technique used in qualitative research to understand the link between product attributes in a brand, the advantages it offers to the consumer, and finally, the end emotional benefits derived from these advantages.
I wonder if people running Slack communities will see engagement go down with the new Slack Clients?
Stacking all of the Slack groups and hiding the individual notification buttons has forced me to turn off notifications for all but the most critical groups I belong to because the single notification badge on the stack is less useful without the group context.
When I believe that design doesn’t matter, I am forgetting what design really is. Naturally, over a lifetime of practice, my understanding of the discipline of design became both broader, and deeper. I started with the skin, and went to the bones.

I got an email today that my talk got selected for one of the IxDA events. Unfortunately had to cancel as they not only not pay their speakers, they don’t even cover flights and accommodation, but they didn’t forget to mention that as a speaker you get a free ticket to the event you’re speaking at.
For reference, early bird ticket to the same event is hundreds of dollars.

Someday, many years from now, I expect an update to #Discord where I actually understand how to navigate the app and servers and channels and threads and notifications and ....
But I suspect that's a long way off and may be pure fantasy.
(I was excited when I realized I could hide channels ..., that was a big day).
And when it's a busy channel with constant chatter, I don't understand how to make it useful at all.
Choice paralysis is the phenomenon where users, when presented with too many options, become overwhelmed and often struggle to make a decision. In UX, this could manifest in users spending excessive time on a page without performing any significant action or completely abandoning a task due to being overwhelmed with choices.
“When customers buy a physical product, they can inspect it for build quality, flaws, or damage. It is much harder to do that with services, especially ones that are essentially a contract based on the chance of a future event, such as insurance.”
The best UX outcomes will come from a deep understanding of the users’ current experiences. That deep understanding comes from a mature research practice.

When a predominately white firm invokes “human-centered design”, it begs the question of which humans we are designing for. These innovations and innovators become hyper-focused with designing a solution to a problem— such as not wanting to physically touch a germ-filled soap dispenser handle — that they forget they’re in a room of white engineers.
