I saw a complaint about leftists talking about supporting the UAW but also wanting to eliminate cars.

There's more than cars. There's also buses and trains. Transport vans. Wheelchair accessible vehicles.

I need to look up whether the UAW has anything to do with the manufacture and maintenance of these, but I hope some union does.

Also, cars are being produced right now, so there's a need for UAW right now. Elimination of cars is a possible future. We'll need unions for whatever people are doing in the future. So it's still good to support existing unions.

They needed to stake out their key ask: that #EV production can be done profitably for the long term.

Credit for WGA proposed contract goes to WGA negotiators, strike captains, lot coordinators, WGA staff, unions in solidarity worked together to get the WGA to this point and fans and supporters.

In many ways, it's not done until both the striking unions have new contracts in place and then when in 2024 IATSE and Teamsters have a new contract in place.

This year we set the tone, next year we bring it home.

My submissive started a new job as the handyman at a local hotel a couple of weeks ago.

He had to go in on the weekend because a hot water pipe broke, and he needed to help the plumber with the repair.

I asked him what the arrangement was with him going in on his days off - if he got overtime, time in lieu, etc. He said that he didn't know because nobody had mentioned it to him.

This is a guy who has been a carpenter his whole life and only really worked for himself or doing contracting for other companies.. so I explained to him how workplaces will often take advantage of employees, especially early on in their job because it creates an expectation that you'll do more than you're being paid for.
