A couple people had some feedback on my #Valheim mod manager project over at https://github.com/cdp1337/Valheim-Mod-Manager so I did a little bit of work tonight on that getting it updated, (and hopefully squashing a few bugs).
Well, the mod manager script worked well, but I'm guessing one of the mod updates _didn't_.... I spawned in with about a hundred cloned characters... Good thing my manager script has a 'rollback' feature! :)

Изучали туманные земли вчера. Ставили светлячков, охотились на местную фауну.
Рельеф там натурально адовый какой-то. Каменные столбы, ямы, деревья, и всё это ещё в тумане. При этом надо ещё как-то умудриться не рассориться с местными гномами. Я одному случайно выписал. Пришлось восстанавливать бекап, чтобы слишком сильно не усложнять игру.
Ну и до кучи произошло наше "любимое". На исходе дня решили, что надо рвать когти домой, потому что бодрость закончилась, инвентарь полон, а бегать по скалам уже немного надоело.
Выходим из тумана к нашему порталу, а там аж три быкоящера заметили наше приближение и решили принудительно телепортировать наши тушки домой в голом виде, но не свершилось. С помощью щита, бутылок, массы костей и какой-то матери всех их завалили. Щит из черного металла таран держит не очень хорошо, но таки спасает.
До этого похожая ситуация была, когда первый раз брали деревню фулингов, но тогда всё же полегли. Оружие было сильно хуже, а ⭐⭐ даже сейчас представляет угрозу.
До сих пор смеемся с произнесенной тогда фразы: "Пошли в горы. Там безопаснее."
В горах действительно безопаснее. Волков били уверенно, а драконы и големы встречаются только у вершин. Правда, в тот раз за нами увязался ещё быкоящер.

О туманных землях.
До победы босса делать там практически нечего. Туман позволяет видеть максимум на пару метров перед собой. А в тумане прячутся всякие интересные создания. Кроме кроликов, с которых падает чешуйчатая шкура, там есть насекомые размером примерно с половину быкоящера. Простых валить не сильно сложно, если прикрываться щитом, чтобы они не отбрасывали, а вот звезданутые могут и навалять.
Из ресурсов пока видели огромные ржавые мечи, из которые падает металлолом, и черный мрамор. Последний видели только в виде лута, в виде ресурсов пока не встречался, но мы и походили по туману всего ничего.
Из дропа Яглута сделали два фонтана светлячков. Теперь несколько ночей надо будет их ловить. Ещё надо будет тамошней древесины нарубить, потом что обычна светлячкам не нравится, а факелов с ними надо наделать много.
Такие дела.

У нас есть огромный олень, огромный леший, живая жижа с костями, плюющийся льдом дракон и огромный скелет в короне и без ног.
Кстати, последнего вчера перевели из исчезающего вида в ископаемый. Сильна тварюга!
Валили его в три рыла. @notis с Машкой лупили его серебром, я же пытался танковать щитом из черного металла. Под благословением массы костей щит держит даже прямое попадание практически без повреждения моей тушки за ним. Дикобраз (палица с шипами) вроде какой-то урон наносит, но серебро всяко лучше.
Один раз умудрился сдохнуть, когда эта тварь призвала поросль. Такие сгустки дёгтя, которые прыгают, плюются дёгтем и травят ядами. Всё бы ничего, но дёготь очень сильно снижает скорость движений.
Благо, что телепорт из дома рядом был, а сама тварь от моей могилки отбежала.
Само место вызова тоже примечательное. Вокруг алтаря стоят огромные изогнутые камни. Алтарь как будто на каменной руке лежим. За камнями этими можно успешно прятаться, но не сильно долго, потому что они внезапно разрушаемые.
Сам Яглут умеет плеваться огнём, призывать огненные шары и взрывы, точно вызывает поросль. Фулингов вроде как тоже призывает, но я не понял, откуда они реально появились.
Короче, теперь у нас есть средства для разгона тумана в туманных землях. Амулет со светлячком, факелы со светлячками и вроде всё.
Теперь надо сделать много факелов, чтобы исследовать новый биом.

Плот практически не использовали. Управляемость у него никакая, вместимость тоже, но строится буквально из говна и палок. С помощью него исследовали только противоположный берег нашего начального острова/материка. При этом делали миниатюрные базы, чтобы можно было ночь переждать.
Строили небольшой домик с кроватями, костром и несколькими сундуками, чтобы можно было награбленное добро хранить до вывоза домой.
После открытия порталов и карви стало немного легче. Через портал можно было проносить ресурсы сразу домой, а под медь и олово было аж 4 ячейки в трюме. С этим уже можно работать.
Порталы в исследованиях помогают прям очень сильно. К торговцу можно просто сходить, взяв с собой золото, а не организовывая экспедицию.
В одну экспедицию умудрились даже печи поставить для плавки металла, чтобы кузницу построить для ремонта вещей. Больше такого не делали, максимум обносили домик забором.
После перехода в железный век и накопления ядер суртлинга начали активно использовать порталы. Даже примерный алгоритм строительства базы на новом месте нарисовался.
Дома предварительно возводится портал с временным именем, с собой берём материал на ответный портал и возведение кузницы.
@notis рулит дракаром, а я с Машкой просто сидим и мониторим окрестности на предмет подводных камней, чтобы вылазка не закончилась крушением. Прибыв на место, мы выгружаемся первыми и начинаем сбривать лес для строительства дома. Строительством занимается @notis в одно лицо, а мы просто приносим дерево в больших количествах. Так же в доме ставится портал. И c этого опорного пункта начинается исследование новой территории.
Так было до открытия равнин и начала истребления фулингов. К этому времени у нас уже было серебряное и железное оружие, целый сундук ядер суртлинга и навык спуска большого количества серебра на руках до дома. Дракар использовался уже как грузовое судно для доставки руды домой. Переработкой на месте не занимались, потому что хлопотно, да и готовый металл всё равно надо везти морем.
Домиков по миру наставили больше десятка, наверное. Из порталов образовался целый двор. Для поиска нужного порой приходилось обойти несколько, потому что хорошо запоминается расположение только ходовых.
Примерно на этапе прохождения босса Матери начали практиковать использование временного портала.
Недалеко от склада стоит портал с именем "й", материал на ответную часть носится с собой. Исследование происходит примерно по такой схеме:
Выбирается остров для обхода границ и территорий. Обычно там уже есть наш домик с постоянным порталом. Экспедиция в составе меня и @notis туда перемещается и начинает обход неизвестных территорий. Попутно отмечаем места с растительными ресурсами и изничтожаем деревянные и каменные постройки. Как только инвентарь забивается так, что не получается перераспределить ресурсы, ставим верстак и портал, телепортируемся домой для разгрузки и восстановления времени бодрости, иногда даже для сна, если ночью бегать не хочется. На какое-то время портал становится центром исследования.
Сложнее получается, если во время похода случайно или специально добыли руду или металл. Перед перемещением их приходится выкидывать на землю, а после возвращения опять подбирать.
После разрушения портала верстак обычно оставляем в качестве метки, что тут уже проходили.
Конечной точкой такой экспедиции обычно бывает другой домик или тот, с которого начинали. Обусловлено это необходимостью куда-то выгрузить руду, чтобы потом забрать и отвезти домой.

Обнаглели. Ходим на болота добывать потроха, тушу и жижу для готовки. Ищем призраков, чтобы выбить трофей. Мерзость от нас уже убегать начала, потому что мочим её с трёх тычек.
Бежим на драугров с криком "Колбаски пришли!"
Совместно с @notis валим быкоящеров практически с 3-4 тычек, но строго по одному, потому что от двух-трёх можем выхватить уже мы. Плащ из их шкур я себе сделал, больше шкуры их вроде ни на что не нужны, а вот мясо в готовку идёт только так.
Оленей из лука стреляю уже просто по старой привычке, потому из них не используется ничего, даже мясо.
Готовимся выдвигаться в сторону следующего босса. Вроде как должно быть туманные земли. Тотемов уже приличное количество с деревень фулингов набрали. Я с палицы перешёл на меч из черного металла и активно качаю владение мечами.
Масса костей в плане изничтожения больших скоплений нечисти рулит и педалит.
Деревни фулингов зачищаем до состояния "голая земля", но опять же выманиваем этих утырков маленькими пачками и уничтожаем. Мелкие проблем особых не доставляют, а вот шаманов и громил стараемся основательно повредить стрелами издали.
Меток на карте уже какое-то невероятное количество, но в основном перечеркнутые, которыми обозначаем добытое и зачищенное.
That was a fair amount of wood. I suppose I'll need to move forward in the plot if I want to build something more interesting in #Valheim.

Прохладная про вскрытие "Запечатанной башни".
Очередная локация с боссом и сундуком торговки. Огромная башня в несколько этажей с фулингами и боссом где-то внизу. Из входов только балкончики где-то высоко. @notis начал строить лестницу, я же попробовал сделать подкоп. Башня оказалось башней до дна мира, потому полезли наверх. Внутри окзалась комната навесь этаж, разделенная решетками и отдельные двери до двух лестничных пролётов. Больше всего я боялся не фулингов, а того, что башня окажется разрушаемой. Но мои опасения не оправдались. Из разрушаемого в башне только двери, костяные балкончики и капканы внутри. Вот этот факт и облегчил задачу. Перед заходом на этаж вставали на огороженном лестничном пролёте и я просто лупил молотом по полу. Таким приёмом удавалось раскидать основную массу противников.
Застопорились только в самом низу с боссом, потому что эта тварь оказалась реально сильной и толстокожей. @notis палил босса из-за угла и периодически его агрил, а я всё так же стоял с другой стороны стены от босса и лупил молотом. И тут закончился откат "Массы костей" у Машки. И вот у нас появились 5 минут с усиленной бронёй, чтобы разобрать босса. у босса к этому времени оставалось меньше половины жизни. Босса-то мы разобрали, но тут появляется второй босс-шаман. На волне негодования и охреневания мы его тоже разобрали примерно за минуту.
Такие дела.

Сегодня выбирались на болота рядом с алтарём древнего, чтобы набить пиявок, потому что запасы туш иссякли. До кучи набить потрохов на колбаски и может быть даже выбить трофей из призрака.
Последнее пока не получилось. Но зато накопали немного железного лома.
Сегодня от нас первый пыталась спастись бегством мерзость.
@notis этот самоходный пенёк выносит с двух ударов.
Ещё на днях нашли новую торговку и взяли у неё квест на возврат шмоток. Жуткая пещера была от неё совсем рядом в горах. Забрались, зачистили. В глубине было какое-то подобие босса, которое в конце концов забилось в угол. Доставать оттуда его пришлось ударами железного молота. Из него выпал искомый сундук и трофей.
Сундук отдали торговке, она расширила ассортимент товаров. А трофей уехал домой пока.

Мать драконов перевели из вымирающих видов в ископаемые. Открылась обработка льна и тёмного металла. В плане еды стало ещё лучше. Теперь можем делать хлеб и прочие ништяки в печке.
Сделали себе обитые доспехи 4 уровня. Я поменял плащ из волка на плащ из быкоящера. Этих гигантов тоже одомашнили. Надо будет попробовать их в качестве ездовых животных для перевозки грузов. Ледяной молот сменил на булаву с шипами местных комаров. Выглядит угрожающе, лупит так же.
Уверенно, но крайне аккуратно зачищаем деревни фулингов. Уверенно, потому что последние две деревни зачистили без смертей. Аккуратно, потому что там есть фулинги со звёздами, которых просто так нахрапом не завалишь. Домики эти говнбки строят из клыков и оленьих шкур. Оленьи шкуры теперь натурально можно хоть в бочки солить. Скоро большого сундука хватать не будет.
Ямы с дёгтем тоже опустошаем оперативно, но поросль всё же убиваем из лука.
Если в горах появляется сообщение, что началась охота, то воспринимаем его как сигнал к начала запасания шкур, клыков и мяса волков.
Метку следующего босса уже открыли. Дальше по плану вроде как туманные земли.

I've been playing a lot of the #Valheim Public Beta Test and I gotta say the next update is so much fun (other than the current bugs which they have to fix of course )

@cdp1337 @destrow : I haven't played #Valheim myself but I keep hearing good things. I'm also deadly jealous of building in #Conan :P Hopefully in #ARKSurvivalAscended we'll have more options, but obviously it's a bit early to tell.
I already play on a cluster, but out of curiosity, yours is PvE or PvP ? It looks PvE but you never know :)
End of the #valheim session, nice and sunny in this shot. Almost completely rebuilt the "tower" on the right side. I doubled the height of the existing building and got it up to the same height as the bridge.
Unfortunately even with all that building up, it looks less like a tower, more like regular building. Going to need more height and texturing of the tower to make it look the way I'd like.
Start of the #valheim session, was raining so the shot isn't great. Over the last few sessions we built up that bridge across the water so a longship fits under it.
Tonight is #valheim night with a buddy of mine, we've been working on a pair of towers with a bridge between them, crossing a good sized river. Usually I focus on the wood based building in the game but this build is mostly stone. I'll take some screenshots and add them to this thread later.

#Valheim update of the night, AND.... it broke.
Iron Gate released a new version for midsummer and some of my mods weren't playing nicely with the update. So instead took @kittycat to pick up some D&D 5th edition books for her first campaign.
Now it looks like I'm going to need to put together a campaign...
I realized despite VN being categorized as a gaming network, I haven't posted many gaming-centric posts recently, so here's my work in #Valheim over the last couple days; started with a small hovel (first image) and am upgrading to a 2-story w/basement place (second image). Still a WIP, but at least it has a roof :)
@sclyde I'm a little fuzzy on what battlepass is. Is it just a quarterly subscription for loot allowing the player to skip grinding mephy runs? Seems awfully similar to pay-to-win to me if so.
I'll just stick with my #Valheim - it's moddable, multiplayer, and doesn't require any subscriptions or "micro" transactions.

My husband and I are two different people. We are on holiday. I am on the sofa watching #Valheim streams, and he's outside planting 200 trees.
Trees of the Land gave us 200 native grown native #Irish #trees. Scots Pine, Oak, Birch, Rowan, Hazel, Alder, crab apple, and native Irish (grafted) apples.
My dream is to have enough money to buy more land around us and just #ReWild. Then, leave the land in trust.
