My local classical station was advertising a "video game weekend". They are making a big deal out of this, but from what I heard this morning only 1/5 songs are from a video game and the rest were their normal lineup. That's not factoring the length of the songs.
I'm curious on how this came to be and why this was how they decided to execute it.

Since it came up some earlier, here is an #introductory post to my other musical life for folks.
I play trumpet and piano, mostly the former and mostly #jazz these days. My main activity for the last several years is called The Hard Modes, a group that does original jazz arrangements of #videogamemusic. We’re mainly active on Instagram, Spotify, and YouTube. The YouTube channel is probably a good way in - https://www.youtube.com/thehardmodes. I play horns and do some of the arranging for that group. If you like jazz, you’ll hopefully dig the contemporary influence on the arranging. If you like video games, you’ll recognize a lot of the tunes.
I post about #music mostly on Instagram under the name @hshtgbrandon (walshbr was taken). A lot of piano videos because those are easier to pull together on my phone. But I’ll throw up trumpet as well when I get my act together. I’ll try to share more on here though because folks seem to be interested!
