Puck’s Glen is deservedly the most famous short walk on the Cowal Peninsula.
This dark and atmospheric trail is a magical experience full of tumbling burn, cross-crossed by bridges and is enclosed by rocky walls heavily hung with mosses and overshadowed by dense trees. The clear waymarked paths continues uphill, through a mixed #woodland and the steep and narrow gorge is interwoven with waterfalls and shallow rock pools spanned by arched wooden bridges. #scotland #walks

To further solidify this dour scene, I also saw three turkey vultures perched in a tree and glowering at the people on the trail. (I did not get a picture, unfortunately.) In all likelihood, they were probably just waiting for everyone to pass so they could snatch up some dead thing hidden in the grass, but they added to the afternoon's ominous ambiance.

Happy to have had the time, weather, and commitment to complete a 10.2km (6.3mi) morning walk yesterday: longer distance, faster pace, and better heart-rate pattern than the previous walk.
Left about 2.5kms (1.5mi) on the table because I didn't want to make my wife wait any longer than she already had. Next time.
I haven't had long recreational walks for about six weeks now due to travel, family situation, and high temperatures. So, it was good to complete a 6.7km walk (4.2 miles). Would have been nice to walk at least 10kms but this is a good restart and hopefully it gets better from here.
BTW though the distance was on the shorter side, the pace was better than my typical pace: about 30secs faster/km.
I'm back into listening to audio-books. I use Borrowbox for this now as it's free to #Warwickshire #Library members. Other UK library services use it too. Loads of free to access audio and eBooks. Perfect to lunchtime #dog #walks
I'll finish this one but it's not quite my thing. Some US based books are fine, but this one is a little too deep into US police culture. I do prefer UK based stuff, probably just because it's what I know.
