DC has a Racing Chihuahuas event May 6 (similar to the Wiener 500 Dachshund Dash in October) on the warf where people bring their puppies to a cute little race track to help Rural Dog Rescue. We need to pack the courts on Wednesday February 22nd to support Quante who has been incarcerated since January of 2022. He has been held pre-trial for over a year now despite having not been convicted of the alleged crime.
After never visiting our nation's capitol, I found myself in Washington DC twice last year. Both times I got to spend time in this hallowed space, amid extreme crowds and also early with no one around. I enjoyed taking in people's reactions and hope they also felt the weight of history as I did.
