A female Northern Black Korhan in the Damaraland region of Namibia. These birds will often run away but can fly fairly well too. They blend in well with the rocks and grassy areas they tend to be found in.

Cruising along Lake Rwanyakazinga in Akagera National Park we came across this hippo heading into the water. It had been grazing on the grass along the shore.

We usually think of the Hadada Ibis as a rather dull bird. However, when the sun hits their plumage you see they are really quite colorful. Wilderness Jacana camp, Okavango delta, Botswana

Leopard, Okavango delta, Botswana Oct. 2021. We watched the leopard for quite awhile but it looked like it couldn’t decide if it should hunt or sleep. It finally decided to sleep.

Desert adapted elephants in Damaraland, Namibia making the evening trek for water. It is many miles from their feeding area to the water and they have to make the trip every day.

Walking across Deadvlei, Sossusvlei Namibia. We just descended Big Daddy, the highest dune in the area at 325 meters. Climbing Big Daddy was quite difficult but our #Wilderness guide Marcus from Little Kulala camp was very encouraging and we made it. November 2021 Photo by @Nancy
