I just got finished for today; I had a busy day with a not-so-good start.

I wonder if there's a #mastodon #web client I could use to set timers to prevent #doomscrolling and flooding the TLs.

Oh, no... I'm trying to prevent this, but my mind is wanting to do a post/boost/reply dump this evening, just because of how busy I was today; I just wanted to give everyone a heads up in case I dump a lot of posts.

Safari *is* the new IE

> If you want your breakpoints to scale along with the user’s font size, you should favor ems instead — but keep in mind you won’t get this benefit Safari unless the user has their minimum font size setting configured.

Cinco consejitos básicos para mantener segura tu página web:

I regularly use and love #Typescript. I used to use #Python the most – it’s what I learned in and I am more interested in backends than frontends. I also am regularly using and really enjoying #Kotlin (so much better than #Java). But truly Typescript is bae.

#Julia is a joy to work with. Very much like Python but more powerful. If it had the library support Python or #JVM has I would probably prefer to use Julia for backends.

But Typescript really changed the game and now that’s probably my favorite language not just because of the language itself but because it has web dominance. Until I can write
#WASM with Python or Kotlin or Rust, and I’m building #web applications, TS is my lingua franca.

I want to try
#Rust because it’s the new hotness.

Just updated Domain to use the new <page> tag in Kitten and I love how much nicer it is.

It’s great to be able to include htmx¹ and apply hx-boost² (think of it as magic ajax) to the whole app from the base layout component.

Also love being able to specify, for example, that Alpine.js³ should be included on the page from a component that uses it.

Quick heads up if you’re playing with Kitten, I’ve just removed the option to return an object (with title, icon, libraries, etc., properties) from your page routes now that we have the new <page> tag that lets you do that from within html tagged template strings not just from your pages but also from fragments and components.

(So we have one way of doing things that works consistently everywhere now.)

There are now separate build files for #macos and #openbsd. This avoids users needing to make direct changes and instead just slightly tweak the Makefile.

I plan to make a basic tutorial for OpenBSD folks 🙂

Use it to:

Just added Water.css¹ support to Kitten².

Water is a CSS stylesheet for semantic HTML that’s responsive, has good typographical defaults, and light/dark mode support.

Useful for demos, teaching, and also as a good base stylesheet for your Small Web places.

Just add WATER (see what I did there?) to your libraries array in your pages.
