September 30... 9/30. So here's a project #Porsche 930 that was at Art of Speed last year #WeirdCarMastodon #WeirdCarTwitter #PorscheTurbo #911Turbo #930Turbo @stefthepef

OK, enough tweaking - for real this time!! 58 days after I impulse-purchased those RS500 vents, this is Done. The final coat of primer is on, the finish is as smooth as I think it's ever going to get, and the mesh is still wicked. Looks way better than my skill level should allow!
Next up, fixing the bonnet that it's going to be glued into. :) #WeirdCarMastodon

Nostalgia is a funny old thing. My journey with the Maestro has been to capture something from the 90s that has been almost totally erased. It's not particularly cool or desirable, it's just how some things were.
I've really enjoyed sourcing the pieces to create this, some original items and some brand new.

We all know some stereotypes about who drives what kinda car. Mid-life crisis men buy ‘Vettes. Mall crawlers buy G Classes (obligatory “fuck the G Class”).
Love seeing someone totally break the stereotype for their car. Last week I saw an older woman driving a WRX. Her plate was something like “GRANSWRX.” Yesterday I was waved at by a middle-aged woman in an NC Miata. A few years ago I saw an older man driving an Integra Type R.
2nd day of my thread of "weird cars my dad had" - Standard 8 Tourer. I guess Tourer meant something different then. He's told me very little about this and again it's before my time and not a picture of the actual car, just one like it. #WeirdCarMastodon

Is it still a milestone, if achieved in kilometres?
(Is a 2011 Abarth 500 Esseesse)

Good news! Maestro passed the MoT retest. 183,000 miles, and 37 years on the road and ready for some more.
I'll give it a fresh service and do a the few cosmetic jobs remaining and then it's on to pastures new.
My attention will turn to the Princess more fully now that it can.
Oh, and I'm asking £950 for the Maestro with a year of MoT on it.

The only thing I can really say is that if I owned a #Brabus twin-turboed G-Wagen, of course I'd drive it to the bank. Granted, one is a long way down the list of things I'd do if I had Brabus Biturbo money #weirdcartwitter #WeirdCarMastodon

RAV4’s MOT Test day today, so wish us luck! 😬
Hopefully it passes AGAIN without any serious issues Or it fails miserably and we have to get a new car 🤣

#WeirdCarMastodon As promised a short series on "weird cars my dad had" This one was from before I was born: an MG (I think it was the TD) This photo isn't the actual car, just one very like it.

Ford Landau: A Falcon/LTD mash-up sales flop | Drive Flashback
The Landau hardtop was one half of Ford Australia's luxury double act alongside the LTD. Together they were called 'Australia's most distinguished motorcars'.

I like Harry's Garage vids, but his constant reference to "Southern Ireland" is annoying me more than it should:
I was reminded by @projektagnetha that I have a sandglow Allegro estate in the shop. We can pretend there's headlight wipers, you just can't see them from this angle.

With the myaudi app on your phone you can put the Audi logo on your watch. Neat. #audi #weirdcarmastodon #applewatch

I can't remember the last time I saw a running Vega. This one was nearly immaculate.

Saw a Haflinger today that had been bought new and kept in the family since 1969. Now that is impressive! All original too. Incredible.
Item 2 found at the same intersection: right hand drive Mitsubishi Delica Supreme.
#weirdcarmastodon

Item 1 at an intersection in the middle of a bunch of fields: 1972ish Saab Sonett. I've never seen a drivable version of this, just parts cars in front of houses in the late 1980s. They're kinda homely but they're really tiny and apparently fun to drive. Too far away for a good picture.

#WeirdCarMastodon James Anderson, a garage owner from Newton Mearns near Glasgow, developed his home built Anderson Special cars in the 1920s and 30s so he could take part in competitive road and hill trials. These cars - smooth running, agile and powerful - were astoundingly successful.

#WeirdCarMastodon the Anderson Mark II, seen at the Kelvingrove Art Museum in Glasgow, was a one-off competition car from the early 1930’s. It had sideways retracting headlamps and a retractable windscreen.

He gave me a nice beep beep when he saw me raising my phone up for a pic.

I usually post only slightly odd cars, not weird cars on #WeirdCarMastodon, but that all changes now.

Did you know that the 1990s Honda Civic Del Sol (aka CR-X Del Sol) had an option for a “Transtop” in some markets, which was a motorized pocket built into its trunk into which you can stow the roof? It’s an incredibly complicated arrangement; no wonder the idea never caught on.

A fantastic, but incredibly hot, weekend at Goodwood Revival. I didn’t take many pictures but here’s one from our overnight stay location.
Car performed very well. It got close to overheating in roadworks at M25/A3 but otherwise good. Two fills of V-Power of 40 litres each, 14mpg on first, 17 on the second.
The temperature was unreal, which made wearing tweed somewhat hard work, but I managed to keep the waistcoat on all day! We will certainly go back!
@zoetetal
I'm guessing at least one of them is manually controlled spark advance, as this probably predates modern distributors.
Any thoughts, #WeirdCarMastodon ?
@slirt posted a Matchbox version of this car, so thought I’d post me driving the only slightly larger version 7 years ago. One of my best friends let me borrow it for the day on my birthday one year, had a blast. One day was all I needed to get it out of my system, though, because it is TINY, and we do not live in a world of tiny cars.

Oh, it's Goodwood Revival Weekend!

#WeirdCarMastodon #Heinkel Trojan bubble car from the museum attic at #Egeskov castle in Denmark. They had a shinier one downstairs. My mother had one briefly, and it broke down while she was sick. My Dad towed it home for a mile or two behind his Austin Cambridge with me steering and braking aged 14! It was the first time I drove a car…
