Hyrule Warriors, for getting me into musou games.
Fatal Frame/Project Zero 5, for just bringing that series to HD and being a lot of fun.

So I just bought the #Resolve Studio dongle... The last stuff I'm going to make in #PremierePro is the #3DS and #WiiU #eShop serieses and the #WindWaker series, but after that, I'll be using Resolve. Already reinstalled the free version a few months ago, but I finally decided to just buy the dongle so I can use the Studio version's features on #Linux when I leave Windows again at #Windows10 end of support. Weird that Fusion requires 32 GB of RAM on Linux, good thing I have it.

Everything went smoothly for all devices. It had no effect at all on online functionality. In my experience, there's a lot more homebrew available for the 3DS and Wii than for the Wii U, but I figure that's just down to the install bases for the systems.

In early April 2024, online play and other functionality that uses online communication will end for Nintendo 3DS* and Wii U software. This also includes online co-operative play, internet rankings, and data distribution.
Funny thing is that I was researching about homebrewing my #WiiU and wether that would fuck online play… I guess I don’t need to worry about that anymore, homebrewing + pirated mario kart DLC on (unofficial) online (if we have that yet) time.
It’s sad that there are lots of people playing online Mario Kart 8 on the WiiU, and I know that lots of them won’t know that unnoficial homebrew servers are even a thing :blobcatsadreach:

Finally got round to opening up my #WiiU gamepad last night. Fixed up a bit of stick drift, as well as a stuck rumble motor, and all plays nicely again now.
Fairly straightforward, with some ifixit guides, forum searches, IPA, and some well-placed spudgers. Much easier than the Xbox controllers anyway.

Well today is the #3DS and #WiiU eShop’s last full day. A swan song for both of these consoles that I were my favourite in their time (more than PS and xBox offerings). Both host to some amazing games that cam only be found and played on them.
Here’s hoping homebrew and modding communities can keep them going for years to come!
Since the Wii U and 3DS eshops are shutting down in a few days, a guy spent 328 days buying his way through the Wii U and 3DS libraries in the name of game preservation. He bought 866 Wii U games and 1547 3DS titles-- that's a staggering 1.2TB of data for the Wii U and 267GB for the 3DS. (For the 3DS, that's 2,136,689 blocks!)
He plans to donate all this to the VGHF.

Time to start mourning the loss of the 3DS (and Wii U) eShops. I wish I understood more about the actual infrastructure needed to support these. I assume it's a simple matter that the sales don't justify the maintenance. Also of note the 3DS and Wii U were before Nintendo had a user based account system.
Voultar made a video explaining how to unbrick a Wii U with 160-0101 or 160-0103 errors for $8.
It's still a memory corruption but it may be able to be fixed very easily in most cases.

I tend to stick to singleplayer games; usually (action) RPGs, sandboxes, turn-based strategy (mostly #Civ6) , and all types of puzzle games. I don't exactly have the reflexes anymore to play most platformers or shooters and the likes. Quick-Time Events are my enemy.
My body is broken and living with chronic pain hampers my physical ability throughout the day. I have to carefully plan my chores and appointments throughout the day/week as too much activity can leave me exhausted for days.
I am passionate about #linux and #RaspberryPi and almost always have some crazy new project in my head which I may or may not be actually smart enough to accomplish. I try to adopt #foss applications when able and am somewhat of a #privacy and security advocate.
Media has shaped and continues to shape much of my life. I love #cartoons , #horror movies, #StarTrek , #Buffy, popcorn action flicks, #Transformers , #Marvel , and the other usual geeky stuff. Especially fond of old #80s and #90s shows and movies.
I am #neurodivergent and may not always 'get' the proper context or tone but it mostly manifests in hyperfocus and making obscure pop culture references.
I was lucky enough to grow up with access to all kinds of technology and computers during the rise of computing - and later, the internet - which made me naturally tech-literate and able to 'speak' computer though that doesn't mean I can program at all. We just have a mutual understanding.
