Just found a few more botanicals that I had tucked into another book. I can't remember what all of these were off the top of my head, but there are white and purple violets in here for sure. Also, Violets are edible and high in Vitamins C + A!

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with these yet, but this originally started out as an idea to collect, identify, and label local botanicals that I found around my area.

Then, I considered incorporating them into my art in some way, but today I figured I should at least scan them in case anything happens to the actual plant samples.

Also in the #orchard is an old tree stump, and entwined around it is a honeysuckle. I _think_ it’s a native Lonicera periclymenum but don’t know for sure. Whatever, looks and smells gorgeous early/mid summer.

You can get smaller cultivars of the native Honeysuckle for smaller gardens, something like 'Rhubarb & Custard'. And you smell it before you see it, absolutely gorgeous.

Wild Blue Wood Asters - always a treat in the ditch in front of the house and running for maybe 30 or more feet along it. The downside is that from spring to mid September the ditch looks scruffy ... but then, this. Worth waiting for.

The bluebell is one of the ‘indicator species‘ of ancient woodland, meaning woods that have been in existence since at least 1600.

The Woodland Trust thinks that some bluebells may even mark remnants of the original wildwood that covered Britain after the last Ice Age.

Its sap was once used in bookbinding.
