I took this yesterday but was too busy to post it: for #FensterFreitag / #WindowFriday, one of the pretty windows in the stairwell of the building I work in on the University of Alberta campus.

A tall, simple-but-pretty window with nine panes, the top three are curved. There's a bay that's big enough for two people to sit in. Through the window you can see a deep blue sky, some trees that don't have leaves on them yet, and the roof of another university-like building.

When visiting #CalhounLodge in the #MassasaugaProvincialPark, #GeorgianBay #Ontario Canada, we ventured into the old, rustic cottages/homes that are now in decay. The dark interior with the screened windows made a perfect frame for the Pine and deciduous trees on the grounds.

I've been slowly working on a #FineArt #Photography project where I get super close to a window and take a picture.

The resulting images sometimes seem surreal because I partly capture what's inside the building, while also capturing part of the window's reflection.

I think I took this #photo in Puerto Rico circa 2013. A shop had this awesome poster hanging in the window. Edit: It’s Diego Rivera! – #steeds

Under this #Germany winemaker’s #windows is a painted wall relief, made by pressing shapes into the wall’s wet surface, then painted before it dried. Other buildings in the area have reliefs created by the same artist.

The half-open gate is reminiscent of a #wine barrel. The family has been making wine for at least 5 generations, and currently offers 14 varieties.

The idiosyncratic #windows of Gaudí's Casa Batlló in Barca.

Known locally as Casa dels ossos, (house of bones) due to those skeletal skull-like balconies. The surface of the central façade has colourful tiles that look like water lilies on the surface of a lake, reminiscent of Monet.

Curves, contours, textures, mosaic tiles. A mix of art nouveau, moderne, arabesque; inspired by nature and fantasy.

Usually I put a #ContentWarning up when I post #nude art, but the style of this picture is so far from pornographic I thought it probably wasn't necessary this time. Sorry if I got that wrong.

So first up, technically you can see the boobs and tuppence of the woman depicted lying in bed with her lover, who is barechested but has blue checked pyjama bottoms on. But these lovers are drawn in a style so innocent, flat and childlike.They lie on a mint-coloured bed, on top of many cushions. There is a red rug on the floor, stripey wallpaper and tartan curtains. Outside it is snowing, so they must have the central heating on, for they are not covered up for warmth.

On a pilgrimage to visit the scene of Tarkovsky's "Nostalghia". We arrived at San Galgano by bus from Siena late in the afternoon, which gave us about an hour to take photos of the ruined monastery before the sun began to set. Then we waited in the dark on the highway for the return bus to pick us up, otherwise it was a long walk back to Siena.

Artist unknown - Cushions, table, window, temple

A coloured drawing, figurative but not quite realistic. From nearest to farthest: 10 various cushions in a heap on the floor on the floor, next to a low table set with breakfast foods and a newspaper, beyond which is a window giving views to a temple on top of a wooded hill. #InimáDePaula (1918–1999) - "Reclining nude"

So. One level, this is a nice drawing of a slim but curvy young woman reclining nude on a chaise longue with her right leg bent at the knee and crossing over her left. She is lying side on to us, but turning her head leftwards in our direction. She has shoulder-length brown hair. Behind her is an open window with the shutters to one side, allowing her a view of a church (and, presumably, vice versa). She is holding a fan, and there is a vase with sunflowers next to the window. The depiction is stylised rather than realistic, but not overly so. So far, so ordinary. But! The colouring is... rather psychedelic. She is horizontally divided by a white line; above it is red, beneath is blue. Her right arm is similar, but yellow, red and blue. Her left arm has a green tinge.The rest of the portrait is similarly, starkly garish. I have no idea what the artist meant to convey by this. I just know I like looking at it, and not just cos it's a hot lass in the nuddy.

Looking down the hall and out the sliding glass doors to our deck and beyond. Snow is starting to fall outside. Eddy Charcoal the torby cat is standing hopefully in front of the door, but she dislikes snow so I told her no go.

A steel glass ceiling (dome, window at rooftop) got squared from me and then put together in collage style, which results in an interesting symmetrical grid pattern with blue sky color in the background. It also has got a deep depth effect.
