Years ago we took Joni on a few sheep herding sessions to see how she would take to it. As you see, she enjoyed it. We didn't continue with the lessons, though, deciding to stick with frisbees and balls instead. And now she herds cats, which is much more of a challenge. And she can do it in the house.

A quiet park walk with the pack. I title this one "Still Life with Paparazzi" - for those of you who don't know, these native flightless birds stalk Cully relentlessly when we're out at the Deloraine river Park. It's an ongoing thing...
The air smells like slightly damp Russian Caravan tea.
One year ago Hubs and I were celebrating bushwalking with Cully at 12.
Now we celebrate every day the fact that he's 13 and still up for adventures - even though he's spending more time sleeping (and shedding!!) than ever. He's 91 in human years and earned it.
Palliative pets can have a great quality of life. Ask Cully.

Today is Cully's 13th birthday - and we didn't plan on seeing him live this long due to kidney disease. However, life - like the impossibly handsome Malamute X Shepherd dog himself - keeps surprising us. We are thrilled and delighted to share Cully's birthday with you, and are grateful for all the love and support you show him.
We became a pack when Cully was only 8 weeks old, and I kept his original little blue leather collar for a long time. Fun Cully trivia: I put the collar on him before putting him in the travel crate when we brought him home, and to this day he hated being a naked dog. Cully will put his head back into the collar if it slips off. He's more than simply a pair of melting sherry-coloured eyes. Cully had fashion standards!
Yes, his collars remain blue. We use embroidered collars with his name and phone number to help keep him safe - even though he never runs off. Good boy Cully!!
Happy birthday to our most gorgeous boy, and we hope your day is as chilled and love-filled as Cully's.
