I tried the new Zoom on Apple TV over the weekend and it was awesome! The continuity camera on your iPhone works great and just being able to relax on your couch or lazy boy, makes zooming with family/friends so enjoyable.

Selbst für #ZoomX steht in den Ergänzenden Bestimmungen Auftragsverarbeitung, dass #Zoom Video Communications Inc. aus San Jose, Kalifornien, USA ein "vom Kunde genehmigter Unterauftragsverarbeiter" für "Hosting & Betrieb" ist, allerdings fehlt dafür die #DataPrivacyFramework-Zertifizierung.
Ein bisschen Firefox-Network-Debugger offenbart, dass Nutzername und Mail an app.zoom.us gesendet werden, dahinter steckt zoom und nicht die #Telekom
Okay cool. #zoom hat mal eben still und leise ne AppleTV Version ihrer App gedropt. Wenn die genauso gut funktioniert wie die FaceTime App wär das echt mega geil mal direkt vom Wohnzimmer aus teilzunehmen.

Einzige Ausnahme: Videokonferenzen finden offenbar über #Zoom statt, was ich nicht gut finde.
Mein unmittelbares Ziel: Im nächsten Gemeinderat in Saal an der Donau sitzt mindestens ein Mitglied der Grünen.
Ansonsten werde ich mich wohl auf Landesebene bei ein oder zwei Arbeitsgruppen einmischen.

It seems like it's not the UI or the usability, that get's people to leave #Mastodon nowadays but - small, yet vocal and totally not self-critical - parts of the community, that can't stop lecturing others about the #Fediverse and how to act/post/comment here or about what.
German Mastodon had the ridiculous debate about #Zoom, other parts similar stuff (scolding someone for #bw-photos... really?).

Nächstes Technik-Problem, bei dem ich Hilfe bräuchte bitte:
Seit kurzem lassen sich Zoom-Einladungslinks nicht mehr öffnen über Firefox, wenn man Linux hat, sprich der Link spricht den Zoom-Client nicht mehr an.
Habe mit unserer IT jetzt schon rausgefunden, dass das wohl ein Sicherheitsfeature von Snaps Firefox ist. Beim Ausprobieren über Google Chrome hat es nämlich wunderbar geklappt. Nun ist Google jetzt nicht unbedingt der Browser, über den ich standardmässig Uni-Dinge bearbeite, weil wegen der Daten.
Meine #Frage: Gibt es einen Firefox-Client von anderen Anbietern, die dieses Feature nicht haben? (Flatpak oder ähnliches?).
Bitte keine Belehrungen über Zoom, unsere Uni hat extra einen Datenschutz-Vertrag mit Zoom, bei dem entsprechende Einstellungen vorgenommen wurden, der Client ist entsprechend über die Uni-Accounts ansprechbar.
Es geht mir nur um die Problemlösung, da es vor 2 Wochen nämlich noch wunderbar über Firefox geklappt hat.

Since a few updates ago, Zoom (the video meeting app) has a memory leak when I'm screen sharing that hard locks or crashes my computer after a few minutes, depending on how much RAM I have free when I start the share.
I'm torn whether I want more for them to fix it ASAP or to never fix it.
It's a beautiful excuse to never have to screenshare but sometimes it would be convenient to screenshare.
(Might be a wayland issue, haven't tried on xorg, but again - remain broken or fix???)

Three days out from my first zoom lecture and I still can't share my screen without it glitching between the shared image and random participants' camera view.

The mute button has been in the same place for years! And you can make an Unmute keyboard shortcut that'll work even if you're in another app.

The other change I noticed but have yet to experiment with is offline participation in Chat.
One big frustration has always been that as soon as I leave a meeting, I loose access to the chat.
I THINK that has changed, but I've yet to test it and experiment with it. I'm hopeful about this new Zoom feature.
Just logged into a Zoom meeting and noticed a number of UI changes and feature upgrades. They may have been there for weeks and I'm just noticing them or maybe it's a more recent update.
Most interesting for me is improvements to the whiteboard feature. Are these new or am I just noticing them?
