I've had several very poor nights' sleep, still awake at 3am and then sleeping in too late. I know what's trotting round in my head and why and it's just going to take time for that to fade. Made worse though of course at having my other #account instantly #suspended a few days ago, and losing the support of several people on there who'd already helped me a lot through this past few months. Though I've re-followed some of them, I'm just not seeing their posts on here and feel very cut off. I had long unused #account in their service. I needed it in the past when I sent few things but accounts are not necessary to receive deliveries. I found this account during unrelated account list cleaning. And thought maybe I should delete it if I don't need it any more.
Several weeks ago I was looking for account deletion options. They don't have something like this. I found support contact form. They didn't have deletion in topics lists, I used "other". They explained I have to send email to their support address. So I sent email.
They claimed I have to use email address I use as login. So... ok, but this IS my login email. I was slightly irritated but had some more important things to do. I forgot about this for several weeks.
Last night I was in mood for fighting after reading about corporate scandals here :blobCat_evil:
I found their refusal messages in my inbox, for some reason still not deleted. So I logged in their website, took screenshot with my address visible on top bar and wrote new email with this attachment, asking what the hell is wrong with my account if I can see it is correct email.
And today I received message to confirm account deletion :blobCat_smirk_paw:

Just checked with #writefreely and I couldn't login with my mstdn #account 😥. But I could #login my mstdn account in #pixeldroid app. I was able to post etc in both apps(pixeldroid and #fedilab) with same account. So I guess writefreely should bring an option to login with other #instance accounts in their apps. That will #solve ur #problem ig
I love the smell of getting a phisher's account terminated in the morning. Smells like victory.
@alternativeto After update, the behavior was different: Tapping a token, copies to the clipboard & minimizes the app. But this can be configured, now it works as expected (like before). I 'm convinced 2FA should be "located" on a different device. Copying makes little sense to me. But how nice, that it is individually configurable - opinions and preferences differ :)

More than 1,600 attorneys have been #suspended by the #California #State #Bar for violating rules about client trust accounts that were set up after disgraced L.A. attorney Thomas Girardi allegedly stole millions of dollars from his clients.
The #Client #Trust #Account #Protection #Program, which went into effect last year, requires attorneys to #register their client trust accounts annually with the state bar, complete a yearly #self-#assessment of their practices managing client trust accounts and #certify with the state bar that they #comply and understand the #requirements for #safekeeping #funds.
After the reporting component is fulfilled, the state bar will then begin compliance reviews and investigative audits when appropriate.
Originally, more than 1,700 attorneys were found in violation of the rules and enrolled as “inactive” with the bar, meaning they’re not legally allowed to practice law. As of Thursday afternoon, that number has dropped to 1,641 after some of the attorneys fulfilled their requirements, according to Special Counsel Steven Moawad, who works for the bar’s attorney #discipline #system.

Once you put an #account into a list or lists, you can hide their posts from your #home feed, so you can really curate lists into your own very bespoke set of topic-specific "Home Feeds" to indulge yourself when you wish, without having an overly cluttered "Home" Home feed as (as far as I know!) you can't put accounts into your lists without following them first.
