I spent the whole day arguing with organisations that are supposed to help people because they employ dodgy people and do stuff without your consent. There’s hundreds of them. They can’t interpret their own contracts and lack comprehension skills. Not volunteers, trained ‘professionals’.
I started asking for help to gain an independent life free of #abuse and #neglect in September of last year and I’m cynical AF but never expected this level of bullshit for so long.
There’s a lack of funding, yes. But there’s also a lack of regulation. There shouldn’t be 100 orgs that do roughly the same thing and be unavailable all at once.
Mostly they don’t help. Just bloody help.
For people who don’t get how hard it is: there’s only one #disability #advocate with a vacancy BUT funded for a suburb outside of my catchment so no use to me. ONE.
Try finding medium-longterm #accommodation for a #disabled person - doesn’t exist. If you manage to find any #emergency #accommodation you have limited number of days there. Know what happens then? If you’ve got nowhere to go you’re #homeless. Right now there’s unprecedented demand.
That’s why I’m still stuck here putting up with absolute bullshit - for now it’s better than being out on the street.
I am so tired. 😩
