For those interested, Affinity has a 40% off Black Friday sale on their version 2 software. There's a discount for upgrading from version 1, so I got the whole bundle for under half price.

I'd purchased the bundle about a year ago but got a refund when I discovered Windows made the executable inaccessible to users. It was an .msix type. They fixed it, but only after the offer ended.

It's a big deal because I link from other applications in my workflow. Now it all works together! #AffinityPhoto

@Richard_Littler Agree completely. I’ve been using Affinity products such as Designer and Photo for about 5 or 6 years and have been very pleasantly surprised by the value provided, particularly compared to Adobe.

Does #AffinityPhoto take a really long time to load for everyone else?

I've got a pretty beefy M1 mac and I swear that, by far it takes the longest time to show ANYTHING on the screen after invoking it. Multiple seconds of "is it working?!" and then the splash screen appears.

Actually had the desire to do something at the weekend so took the model that I made for the collab and made a new thing for the first time in months!

Not my best work, composition could definitely be improved for a start, but it is something, and that has to count as a plus.

Also properly used Affinity Photo for postwork for the first time.

#captureone is such frustrating software. Not because it's bad but because you constantly have to pay for "major" updates that really should've been minor updates. Especially for the price. It's also really glitchy for the price.

I think I'm just going to move my whole workflow to #affinityphoto instead. I need the stability and the UX is better.

What kind of hardware are you using for actual drawing? I'm not talking about apps (like #Photoshop, #AffinityPhoto etc.) but like are you using a #Wacom tablet, an #iPad or what?
Lots of seem to praise Wacoms, others say iPads are great for it but if I prefer to use a Windows PC (although I also have a Macbook), then it's a cumbersome affair most likely (there are 3rd party apps for mirroring but they all seem to have monthly/annual fees. Yuck. No thanks.)

I've been messing with Affinity Photo trying to get a Photoshop book template I bought working properly in it. 3D meshes don't import cleanly like perspectives do. I think I got it, but I had to do several hours of futzing myself to get it perfect. Should make my #Kickstarter look nicer when the final dust jacket and case laminate design lands.

So I actually didn't know this was a thing - but I was looking through Affinity Photo's resizing options and found "Resize Pixel Art Document," and whaaaaaa...?

Funky results, but it's actually not bad! Especially when you consider how wonderfully tiny the originals are. They've really given MB (bottom right) a pensive scowl though and I'm kinda here for it.
