I think the people-first aspect to #Agile is reflective of a Theory Y assumption about the nature of people BUT I don’t think “people-first” is a sufficient summary of #Agile because that’s only about the assumptions about the nature of people and does not cover the distinct choices in #Agile that reflect other assumptions about the nature of software product development. #AgileDevOpsCon

Hypothesis:
If goal-setting on team level shows positive effects, these are primarily driven by such goal being a reason to interact and collaborate.
The goal itself just bears the risk of being wrong.
One of the issues I have with defining #Agile using the dictionary definition rather than as a formal term of industry is that the dictionary definition doesn’t include the “nature of software”, “nature of product development” considerations. #AgileDevOpsCon

ive had to move whole events from an outside to inside set up because of a thunderstorm in less then 15mins, want to know why it worked? because we looked at the weather and knew the possibility for a thunderstorm and fucking planned for it!

Sprint velocity shouldn't be confused with a time card or itemized bill for tasks
Let's imagine it was. First off, it will be the worst, most inaccurate ever because you're making guesses about the unknowable future, not commitments. Real time cards are recorded *as it happens* for this reason.
Point estimates are self declared by individual contributors. If there are $ penalties to not reaching velocity, you merely keep your job if you hit velocity, lose your job if not

It baffles me how easy some people are to dismiss techniques and perspectives that are advocated by developers as "something for developers" and thus not for business or product management:
These are all concepts meant to improve delivering the right product and delivering the product right. Thinking it's merely developers doing their thing outside the realm or concern of product management is so detrimental to both.
I believe that #codereview should be interactive. You can't just toss a big change set over the fence to a coworker and expect them to give you useful feedback based only on that. They should be able to ask questions, and the author should be responsible for answering them completely. #webdev #software #agile #git #programming
#ResponsibleAgility tip: it can be useful on #agile teams to have a rule that says the expert speaks last. It lets other points of view be explored without "anchoring" to the expert point of view. Experts should listen to the conversation with an open mind - they can learn!

Say you've got a team using (like everyone else) #Agile methodology and 2-week sprints. There are a few developers and a few QA people. Your user stories are well decomposed into smallish units, but let's face it, some things take a few days to develop.
And you don't want to be rolling story points over from sprint to sprint.
