5v RC beacons, a printed mount, and a photoresistor relay pointing at the 'scoop occupied' LED on the under-playfield board – I assume that LED is for testing, but it worked great for this purpose.
If there's a ball in the airlock, the beacons flash. Once the ball is ejected, they stop.
Designed the mount to have the same feel as the Nostromo beacons ceiling pattern and to bounce the light a bit.
I think it turned out okay!
Timothy Olyphant is joining the cast of Noah Hawley's "Alien" prequel series for FX in a major role. No official details have been revealed but sources report he will be playing a synth named Kirsh. Olyphant worked with Hawley on Season 4 of "Fargo".

Po latach postanowiliśmy obejrzeć całego Obcego. Oraz Prometeusza. Nadchodzi serial, a Noah Hawley pokazał swoją antologią „Fargo”, że umie bawić się w nawiązania.
O filmie napisano już bardzo wiele, więc nie będę się bawił w żadne tam recenzje czy mini analizy. Odnotuję jedynie, że film zaczyna się starzeć, nawet jeżeli z rigczem. Podejrzewam jednak, że te rysowane tła czy końcowa eksplozja jest dla współczesnej młodzieży jak latające spodki z produkcji z lat 1950. dla nas, młodych dziadersów. Statek kosmiczny nadal wygląda dobrze, choć widać, że projektowano go z innym wyobrażeniem przyszłości.
Ale do rzeczy.
Pierwszy raz widziałem film jako nieopierzony młodzieniec, więc nie bardzo kojarzyłem aktorów (nawet Dildo Bagginsa nie wyłapałem chyba), ale kiedy leciał w telewizji ponad dekadę temu, byłem zaskoczony, kiedy zobaczyłem tam Harrego Deana Stantona. Z jakiegoś powodu wydawał mi się wnosić vibe z innej bajki.
Teraz jednakże bardzo dobrze weszła mi jego postać i widzę tu bardzo subtelnie skomponowany comedic relief. Harry Dean Stanton na pewno wiedział, jak dostarczyć swoje kwestie na ekran. Jego wczesna śmierć jest również sygnałem, że nie będzie to typowy horror.
Tym razem w końcu doceniłem też postać Asha i aktorstwo Iana Holma. Z jakiegoś powodu wcześniej mi trochę przelatywał bokiem.
Co ciekawe, obcy pojawia się później niż sobie zapamiętałem, jest go mniej, a także cała ta ich przygoda trwa krócej. Zabawne, jak pamięć ludzka działa.
Za tydzień „Obcy 2”, którego na serio nie widziałem od 20 lat, ponieważ od soczystej akcji o wiele bardziej ceniłem sobie kameralną atmosferę Nostromo. Aczkolwiek najbardziej ciekawi mnie powrót do „Obcego 4”, który podobał mi się wbrew popularnej opinii. Podejrzewam rozczarowanie.

Just won my first game of Alien: Fate of the Nostromo 👏🏼
It is deceptive, the rules are quite simple but it is very cleverly designed.
There is a definite tension element. I was getting close to one of the lose conditions (morale dropping to zero) but I squeaked through.
It is rated for ages 10+ but a bright kid a few years younger could play it, the mechanics are fairly simple.

Watched Aliens (1986) as per my daughter's request to follow up after Alien last week for our scary movie night. My daughter liked the movie, and hated Burke as much as he deserved.
The reveal of Ripley in the loader near the end had my daughter in awe. "She's SO cool!"
I never realized the amount of intense swearing in this movie until my daughter was in the room. Oops! Watching these movies with her is something that I look forward to all week.
I had a workshop today (I'm a UX designer by trade) and now I'm back at the hotel.
