I bought it as scrap, dismantled it, cleaned it all up with isopropyl alcohol, replaced the thermal pads with Grizzly thermal pads, the thermal paste with Arctic MX-6, carefully put it all back together and she works like a dream! I've been having this issue with my #AMD #Windows #PC: every day or so the display outputs stop working. When I restart, it's in low-res. My #GPU is "disabled" in Device Manager. If I uninstall the #driver and restart to let it reinstall, it goes back into high-res, but only for a day or so until it happens again. I've tried installing AMD Adrenaline Software, but it's the same. I suppose I need to get into the Event Viewer and see if there are any error messages..
From back when 4kb of RAM was a really big deal.

Last time I built a small form factor system and fought with heat and noise until I eventually got a bigger case and cooler CPU. This time I packed a hot CPU and GPU in a giant case with a million fans… the fan curves need some iteration but so far it’s working ok. 1/2

Some bearish dark pool trades came through last night for AMD and NVDA, so exercise caution playing here at the top. Many traders will want to take profits, some will get greedy, and AI is uncharted territory.
The market will likely pick winners in the AI race and will likely pick them violently. Just don't find yourself without a chair when the music stops.

It is just infuriating and the reason why I've had to migrate to #Intel & #AMD because nvidia are full-throttle greedy assholes.

If so, I can return it. My router is a little overbuilt and it's an 11th gen i5 #NUC. I could get a more appropriate (for my now slower 1gig internet) #firewall box; maybe a dual core i3 or a celeron. Been needing to update my #pfSense install anyway. #homelab
@schizanon@calckey.social I ended up getting a #Ryzen 5500U #miniPC for $290. With 16GB RAM and 6 CPU cores it should be able to handle any emulator core #batocera can throw at it. I'm pretty confident in #AMD's #Linux support, so I shouldn't have any trouble (except #Bluetooth and #wifi of course!)
Good strategy to partner with AMD. Lots of implications here. Intel is left out. Microsoft doesn't have to build the infrastructure for chips.
