Look, all I want is to be able to take three separate Google Tags tag_a, tag_b, and tag_c, that are the tags for three different sites' data streams in GA4 (prop_a, prop_b, and prop_c) and ADD a second destination to each of them, prop_d such that prop_d can act as a rollup of the three other properties.
And I'm pretty sure I can't do that unless all three gtags are GA 360 property data streams.
Well now I look like a jackass because GTM _does_ have all the Google Tags in it, in addition to the GTM accounts that can fire any sort of JS you want on a site.
There's Google Tag Manager and then there's managing Google Tags. And those are somehow different. Very different. Come on, Google.

For a new client, I am trying to gain access to their old #Google #Analytics account. I have added the analytics.txt file to the root of their website, but when I try to submit the contact form for Google it just errors with the message "Refresh this page and try again. Sorry, there was a problem with the form."
I have tried in both Firefox and Chrome, with and without adblocker. But no luck.
Any ideas?

On multiple, unrelated websites, using GA4 I'm spotting some strange data.
On a single day (different for each site), for a few hours , of page views for / by around 70-80 "users", evenly split between Windows, Chrome OS, Linux and Mac, and from a set of 40ish countries.
None of these views have any custom dimensions or anything that I'd expect from a "real" visit (with GA4 loaded via GTM on the actual site).
Anyone got any guesses as to what's going on?
Remember Mint? The great little web analytics tool. I miss that. What’s everyone doing with Google Analytics 4? Do we have any other choices? Are search results punished if we don’t use GA?
Good lord #GA4 is absolutely terrible. Assumptions I could explore and test in seconds are now obscured and discovery by stakeholders has been killed by the encouragement to just share PDFs instead.
I feel like I had #Analytics superpowers and now it's just another huge blind spot.

I received the first result of the statistics that we recently discussed with you, thanks to those who told me about UTM analytics

According to this, all previous external traffic that I could not identify looks like it was mastodon. But I have a feeling that most of it is bots, not people. Because of #twitter my statistics are 100 times less
(The best part is this probably violates the #GDPR)
It turns out that there is no way to disable the **OTHER** #analytics #spyware that @grafana adds to #Loki
Start by adding `grafana-agent-operator.agent.enableReporting: false` to the last post. By default it installs and sets up the "Grafana Agent" and that flag must have slipped their minds in the release notes where this mess is nominally "documented". (Not in the docs. In the old *release notes*.)
Doesn't matter. There is no way to add 'enableReporting: false' to the GrafanaAgent CR itself. (Yay for non-standardization of flags.)

It wants to scrape EVERYTHING. It wants to scrape stuff that I skip because its too noisy. What possible reason could the logger have for scraping ingress & cadvisor?

For my personal website that gets itty bitty bits of traffic, I’ve been using GoatCounter. It’s free, and just enough for me. Privacy focused and just tells me how many people are visiting certain posts.
Today I found a new one that looks interesting. Free right now, but going free tier + paid tiers soon. Looks nice!

For a week now, Google Analytics has not been working with the #steam page. I sometimes checked if the statistics in #google coincided with the statistics in Steam Traffic Reporting
Now I can no longer compare and prove the truthfulness of the external traffic
Where did 5000 visits come from - I don't know. What kind of traffic is this, which has grown 10 times compared to other days
