My current favourite Genre of comment is all those praising any new animation that is even slightly different from the stale Pixar CGI format as New and Revolutionary, as if no decent animation ever existed before.

Pixar and their numerous copycats have done a lot of damage homegenising animation so much in people's minds that even slight variances now seem profound and magical.

I sat through two new animated film trailers before Across the Spider-Verse; Pixars latest about Elements with Feelings and Racial Boundaries, and some Teen Kraken thing, that both looked and sounded so blandly cookie-cutter it made my teeth curl.

I always postpone learning how to properly use generative VFX systems such as Pixel Composer. Today I sat down to study Pixel Composer composing for just half an hour and my brain is jelly, fully melted, not a single thought goes through anymore.

PS: Kudos to @MakhamDev for this amazing tool. I will try my best to get a hang of it. There is a lot to gain from using those even if you are hand drawn pixel art animator such as myself.

Just to add insult to injury, #Maya uses 'map1' as its default, but auto renames to st on #USD export. So whilst exporting alembics from #Blender we then had two UV maps in Maya 'UVMap' and 'map1' when those files ultimately made it to rigging and then down to #Houdini #Solaris we now have 'st' and 'st1'.
Spent friday debugging why mtl.usd wasn't being applied correctly to anim.usd and well it came down to UV names.
