Besides all the cool technical details, this will result in much more #screentime.
#Apple is adding a dominant interface to the real world on Apple Vision Pro. I wonder if there couldn’t be a more subtle way to integrate all this to reality when using #MR or #AR. Sure they want to be as consistent as possible to the interface of OSX and iOS, but sometimes less is more. Wearing it all day, I want a higher percentage of reality than of OS.
I just don’t see any use of the #apple #visionpro in business that makes me think, “I need this for my work” at $3,499 I could buy a very nice machine to do my own LLM with a couple Nvidia GPU’s too #sync
Well Apple’s Vision Pro certainly makes Sony’s PS VR2 look like a children’s toy and well… Cheap, different use cases as we all know but damn that price for a AR/VR headset just seems pointless.

Yeah, I’m not the target market for the Vision Pro AR headset. I'd like to be, but I personally don’t have the compelling business case needed to justify it.
Maybe if I hadn't bought a Vive, Vive Pro, and Quest 2 I could take all that money and buy the Apple headset! 😊
In general, I do feel that Apple is good value for the money.

@rstockm meine #PSVR2 sieht nicht so schick aus, da finde ich die #Apple Brille deutlich eleganter. Der Haupteinsatzort ist die Wohnung oder ein Büro, da dürfte man wenig Menschen begegnen. Zum Arbeiten brauche ich sowas nicht, aber für Filme und Serien würde ich mir die #visionpro kaufen, wenn es wirklich so immersive und scharf/hell ist. Die PSVR2 ist sichtbar pixelig und verschwommen, Gran Turismo fahre ich aber sehr gern und regelmäßig. Das Horizon Kletter/Kampfspiel ist cool.

Good grief #Apple UK. Can't believe what I'm seeing re shipping address info. It's not just ports they get rid of, Ms and Miss aren't available either. What century is this Apple? You couldn't even select Not specified as it's mandatory.
The funniest thing about this: calling it "spatial computing", when it subscribes even more firmly to the desktop metaphor than any other #VR or #AR project out before.
You buy the #AppleVisionPro **because** you don't want a more natural way of interacting with a computer, similar to how you would interact with everyday objects. You don't want this kind of ultimate #skeuomorphism. No, #Apple are selling you **the exact opposite**.
Because staring on various screens for 18 hours a day has actually become your default mode of existence. So this new normal is now able to push the natural 3D world in the background. Your immersion is complete, #spatialcomputing means the 2D desktop metaphor gets awarded the place in your life it already has. But emphasized. Interacting with the natural 3D world is slowly becoming a tedious afterthought to interacting with the computer.

i would like to introduce a technical executive with an engineering background and diabetes to someone in the #HealthKit team at #Apple, because a “no updates" control failed and her blood glucose instrument silently stopped working overnight because of it.

Holy moly! VoiceOver is indeed on Apple Vision Pro, and a ton of other accessibility features, and they seem to have thought this through quite thoroughly. Did Apple kill DayOne and other 3rd-party journaling apps yesterday? I don’t know. I’d love to try their new app, but unless it comes with a way of importing more than three years of my DayOne history, I won’t switch right away.
What I’m more concerned about is the future faith of 3rd-party journaling apps as a whole, TBH.
