Star of Bethlehem
I first noticed these in our yard four years ago. There was only one plant then. Last year they didn't come up in the same place but several plants came up. This year they have moved again and there are now two clusters in different places.

We wondered where they came from. A couple of weeks ago I found a cluster along the sidewalk on a nearby street when I was out walking. I guess they're native to this area.

No Strings Attached

I had read recently that Silk and Steel strings are nice on small body guitars, so I bought some.

First I removed the Bronze Phosphors I had on my Washburn R320SWRK and cleaned it and conditioned the fingerboard.

I took this photo while the strings were off and stirred it around with some Photoshoppery.

The strings are pretty nice. Sound good and they're a little softer.

We're pretty happy that our Dogwood tree has flowered.

During the drought last summer it shed half of it's leaves over the summer. It didn't look good.

We waited while nearby cherry and apple trees flowered, and finally last week, flowers started popping.

Our little field of Spring Beauties (Claytonia virginica, Virginia springbeauty, eastern spring beauty, grass-flower or fairy spud).

The arrival of the Spring Beauties in our yard each year is a sure sign that spring has once again arrived.

My best photographic tool that doesn't attach to my camera is a pair of knee pads. I use them all the time to get close up to small flowers that grow low to the ground or when I'm kneeling on the walk around the gardens.

Geranium palustre, also called Marsh Cranesbill.

We have a lot of these, they bloom from late April until October. Small flowers growing close to the ground. I like to catch the flowers when they're just opening because they have 5 gray stamens and 5 white ones with blue racing stripes. As the flowers mature, all the stamens stand up and become gray.

Flowers amaze me.

Crystal Dragon - My 6th submission to Project Aurora: Gems, and what will be the final in my Dragons series that started with our Bronze release.

Created with a mix of #blender3D, #cinema4d with #OctaneRender and #photoshop.

Initial inspiration for the series came from the work of UMGJ so do check them out.

I like the feufollet's expression though. I hope practice makes me so good at this that it doesn't take 100 tries for me to like what I paint.

Eastern Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly

I saw this guy from the house and when I got out with my camera, he stayed another 10 minutes flitting around munching on the Echinacea.

We get a lot of cabbage whites and skippers but only see large butterflies infrequently.

Today, some friends filmed me dragging an overdriven electric guitar on the street.
It's a redoing of a Fluxus piece called Guitar Piece by Robin Page. The original piece is featuring an acoustic guitar, I wanted to do it with an overdriven guitar to be more noisy and I wasn't in a mood to destroy totally an instrument like Page.

Virginia Bluebells, Mertensia virginica. Perennial.

We have a small plant. Last year it was in danger of being crowded out by ferns, so I got permission from the gardener to pull some of the ferns (we have a lot).

They start budding around April 1st and are gone around May 1. Ours grows in deep shade with a little sunlight early in the morning.

I like the way the buds start out deep pink and slowly turn blue and then flower. Cute little flowers.
