No reasons given. The KWS calendar went blank and the site is now down.

It seem *very* sudden, esp as they were posting job notices over the past six weeks.

Hopefully it's a minor blip and not something catastrophic.

Our new place is in a street that does a bit of #Halloween decoration (I asked in the local Facebook group) and has kids trick-or-treat.

I'm starting to collect ideas for decorating the front of our house.

Kmart is selling "spider webs" for $1 a bag, which I'm going to put up in the front window.

I'm going to make tombstones by using papier-mâché on some of the boxes we still have from the move, and then just painting them

I'm going to also paint some of the pool noodles we have for the dog, and stuff a garbage bag with newspaper to make a giant spider to attach to the front of the house.

And I'm going to cover some of the tomato cages I already have with fabric to make "ghosts".

I don't have anything to spend on this, so I'm looking for ideas that involve things I already have around the house... but I think it's going to be a really fun thing to do.

I've never really done anything like this before because this is the first place I've lived that feels like a real community.

I'm a bit sad that Greg won't be here to see it, and that Tracey (my housemate and queerplatonic co-parent to our pets) isn't going to be here because she'll be in the US visiting her family... but I'm definitely taking pictures!

Any #rug hooking people out there? I want to make my first ever hooked rug -- a small one using #fabric strips. I bought a rug hook (2mmx1.25). Is this the right tool, and what washable backing stuff should I use? Should I get Monk's #cloth, or some sort of #canvas or burlap? The intent is for a small bathroom rug that I can sometimes wash (maybe by hand).

I've attended the regular conference, #ICFA, four times, and last year I presented at the first VICFA, which tries to schedule sessions across a wide range of times so people all over the world can attend.
