I was, for 25-odd years, a water microbiologist.
When sampling for Legionella, the test must take place on the same day, within a few hours. It can't be delayed.
The gov't says Legionalla testing took place on 25th July, but that results didn't appear until 7th August.
But incubation after processing the sample, which takes only minutes, is complete after 72-96 hours.
On the outside, samples taken on 25/7 were available on 30/7. A week's inexplicable delay.

The Falkirk Wheel. This astonishing piece of engineering celebrates its 21st birthday this Saturday. The only rotating boat lift of its kind in the world, it allows boats and barges on the Forth and Clyde Canal to continue their journey along the Union Canal - 24m above and on toward #Edinburgh
It takes just 22.5 kilowatts (kW) to power the electric motors, which consume just 1.5 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of energy in four minutes, roughly the same as boiling eight kettles of water.

Day off, and spring sun has come out to play. Finished errands, went for stroll by canal, planning to pause for coffee from cafe-barge, only to find it boarded up. Walk to new coffee van further along Canal, closing for day already. Denied. Hoping cafe-barge not closed for good, looked rather abandoned.

This is De Meern 1, the most complete #Roman river #craft (in this case, a #barge) found in Northern Europe. It sank suddenly & accidentally in about 190 AD, just to the west of Utrecht - the captain may have made a mistake in taking it into a winding tributary of the #Rhine (then the Empire's northern frontier) where he was, it seems, unable to avoid some lethal obstacle. He & the crew seem to have escaped leaving personal belongings which survived with the #boat.
