Not content with proposing the closure to cars of a major route between Bristol and Bath in order to install rapid bus routes, our local council is also going to significantly reroute traffic into and out of Bath city centre.
It's certainly a brave proposal, but I'm not sure about the logic of blocking off the one quick and easy escape route for cars exiting the huge underground car-park. 😆

This is especially interesting as the model isn't being airy and ideal, but awkward and natural. Degas was intent on capturing natural motion, the same way the Impressionists were intent on capturing moments of light.
This helps illustrate why Impressionism was so controversial in its time...it was a break from the academic, posed, didactic styles of art that came before.
