Our local pack family of beach dogs makes itself at home near our beach house. They're friendly and inquisitive. They like the veranda but don't come inside.

In the afternoons the fishermen and farmers ride their caribao along the beach

And we arrive at the accommodation, a traditional wooden beach house in Filipino style, with thatched roof. But it's also quite big with all amenities needed and lovely bathrooms.

But the best bit is a beach with no other property for a mile in either direction. No tourists. No developments. The only other people are the occasional passing farmer or fisherman riding a carabao. And the local beach dogs (azkals)
