So, a while back, I was looking through my collection of old beading magazines and discovered this beautiful medallion pendant. Had to search for the triangle beads, but I managed to get them.
I have plans on making a couple more for the holiday season.

Finally finished this beautiful necklace: Cindy Holsclaw's Opulent Octahedron Necklace. The pattern is found on her website, but I found it in the October/November '15 Beadwork Magazine.
Aztec gold CzechMates bars and Capri blue Preciousa 6mm bicones form the beaded beads. Iridescent dark blue Prestige crystal pearls of various sizes space between them while AB blue violet rondelle beads add a touch of sparkle. The entire piece is about 22 inches.

I got one of my birthday packages this weekend, and I used it to make this amazing #beaded bead. Pattern belongs to Cindy Holsclaw of Bead Origami. Her website has the most fascinating #beading patterns I've seen so far. Very pretty and ornate.

I have been very silent with my crafting, but I can make it up with my latest project: @beadwovendreams' Byzantine Crystal Cross pattern. The second pic is the Franciscan Crown rosary I made with it.
Sorry to say, I jumped in without any knowledge of cubic right-angle weave, so I had to look up tutorials for it (Beader Skill Lvl. Up!) And even then I had to go up a few bead sizes to an 8/0 size for this. Still, as you can see from the pic, it came out pretty okay. Had to reinforce a few areas, but other than that, I feel it's a pretty good first try.

Technical advice solicited! The clasp on this much-loved bag has started to pop out because of continual abrasion. Please recommend a way to #repair it, bearing in mind that I have no #beading or #leatherwork or #jewellery tools.
Edit: from the responses, my pictures didn’t make it clear: the ball goes all the way through the loop and spins freely. When new, the ball was too big to come back out the loop; now it does because of wear.
The most frustrating part about beading in any form or style is trying to adapt your brain to the way its done and the patterns that go along with the type of beading.
Like for me, it's peyote, in any form. I can't read a damn peyote stitch pattern (in any style) to save my life and I wish that all patterns were in written form along with charts.
YouTube is all right for instruction but it sure doesn't help in reading the damn things!

Just brushed up on my wire-wrapping skills 🌸 Tomorrow we are having a hobby day at the school and I'm responsible for the crafting. There will be macrame bracelets, crochet, knitting, paracord and jewelry-making. It's been a while since I've done wire-wrapping so I was glad to discover that I have retained muscle memory of how to do it 😄

My work today on the #BiodiversityShrines was mainly the old technique of #perlage = #beading. On social media it's often called #FrenchBeading, but in France, we don't say that. Differences in beading technique are less national than temporal. Victorian techniques, f. e., differed from those of the Renaissance. Perlage was traditionally used for costumes, headdresses or so-called #klosterarbeiten like #reliquaries. I went to a 'beading class / crafternoon' last week because I liked the idea of doing some beading. I only technically did some beading.
Someone brought a bunch of various letter beads. I've had the idea for a while that I need some kind of fun name tag, because it's easier than spelling my name when I introduce myself (especially over loud music). I decided to use the beads to solve this problem... somehow.
When the tool you're used to is pliers, everything gets solved with chain maille.
I've attached everything to a blanket pin, which looks great but unfortunately is only really usable on knitted fabrics.
Still, I love the juxtaposition of styles here. A convenient way to say more about me than just my name.
I'll keep searching for other name tag possibilities...

A chair tiling or L-tiling is a non periodic tiling by L-shaped tiles built from 3 squares. This tiling is a self-similar reptile that uses a rotation for each level of the inflation. The chair tiles are not aperiodic tiles since they are not forced to tile nonperiodically by themselves. I stitched this version using seed beads and thread. I have a question for beaders.
I am trying to make a bracelet. I wanted to make a stretch bracelet but the elastic I bought ten years ago at my local bead shop had disintegrated on the spool, as had a bracelet I made with it but never wore. I noticed another bracelet I bought earlier was fine and still as stretchy as when I bought it. It was made with something different, but still mostly clear.
What elastic would you recommend for 4 to 6mm stone beads? Thanks!

Today’s workshop: making Earth-moon earrings with 6mm larvikite beads for the Moon and either chrysocolla or assembled malachite/azurite beads for Earrh. Also on my desk are some new Titan atmosphere/dragonfly strung bead necklaces waiting to be finished. The square trays I’m using to organize beads are disposable mini dessert presentation plates.
