Even though the record had advance sales of more than a million copies, it did NOT immediately enter the UK charts as #1. Listening to the #Beatles in #spatial audio on #Apple music, the new 2023 masters. I think we've hit the point where it's too clear, and at least for me, that's starting to reveal the flaws in the music. For example, the lead clearly sings "I'll never dance with another", but the others doing the Harmoney are clearly singing "I wouldn't dance with another". If it wasn't for spatial audio on #Sonos I wouldn't hear that at all.

In February 1988, Leena Kutti, a 43-year-old Estonian immigrant, accepted an assignment to work at G.P. Putnam’s Sons, the vaunted New York City publishing house. The job at Putnam’s brought her to the New York Life Building — and, more specifically, to the basement.
Known as the “storage room” in the parlance of the publisher’s staff, the dusty basement level was packed to the gills with every possible kind of detritus. It was mostly clerical stuff — paperwork and contracts associated with a century in the life of American publishing. But there were strange things, too, hidden among the attendant accumulation — objets d’art such as paintings, sculpture, photographs. And Kutti’s job, more or less, was to throw it all out.
It was around the second day on the job when Kutti happened upon four boxes. Almost immediately, she could tell that they held contents of a particular significance.
As she sifted through the boxes, she gazed at what seemed like vintage photographs of the Beatles — thousands of them. And then she found a manuscript titled "Living the Beatles’ Legend: Or 200 Miles to Go." It was an oddly formatted specimen — printed in all caps.
And further still, she discovered a spate of leather-bound diaries. Leafing through their pages, Kutti was able to ascertain that the boxes must be the property of Malcolm Evans, a name that meant nothing to her. From the looks of the booty that lay before her in the basement, he must have been some kind of chronic hoarder, an avid photographer apparently, and an enthusiastic journaler who peppered his voluminous diary entries with madcap, colorful — even psychedelic — illustrations.

The original is a 2 track recording with the backing on the left track and the Paul's vocals on the right (so they could balance them correctly for the mono release).
Now the handclaps, vocals drums and bass are in the middle with the lead guitar on the left and rhythm on the right.
I think they've been using Peter Jackson's magic machine again.
I heard the new (and reportedly last) Beatles song, Now and Then.
You know that they won't really let Lennon stay dead unless everyone in the world listens to it at least once so please do your bit.

The Beatles—This week I picked up a gently used copy of The Beatles (The Original Studio Recordings) box set for a reasonable price. It was released on 09/09/09. To honour the occassion, I made an animated GIF of their first-rate album artwork. My favourite Beatles song is While My Guitar Gently Weeps, written by George, and featured on their self-titled "White" album.
Took a day off and put this cover together. When John recorded this demo, the 80's were dawning and with it, it's lot of drum machine and home studio boom. So I recorded this on my trusty 4 tracks on cassette tape :3

the video in all its artificial style is distracting from a little bit boring melody. A bit of nostalgia can be expected. As I remember the tape was given to Paul by Yoko lots of decades in the past after John's death. It reminds me on the fragments of unreleased songs like the Antology project . Similiar like the group ABBA did publish s.th. in the nineties. I guess it is rather published as a testimonial or obituary than as a real #beatles song.

Das historische Verdienst der Beatles liegt nicht allein bei einigen Songs für die Ewigkeit. Sondern auch darin, dass sie die für heutige Musiker selbstverständliche Arbeit im Studio etablierten.
Da ihre (weiblichen) Fans stets so laut kreischten, dass die Band ihre eigene Musik auf der Bühne kaum noch hören konnte, gaben sie das Touren auf und verbrachten Wochen und Monate im Studio. Erst dadurch wurde "Sound" zu einer heute üblichen Kategorie, um Musik zu bewerten. Statt kurz zwischen Gigs und Touren eine neue LP in Tagen im Studio einzuspielen, feilten die Beatles als Studio-Pioniere wochenlang an einzelnen Tracks, wobei der 'fünfte Beatle', ihr Produzent George Martin daran einen gehörigen Anteil hatte.
