Just read the paper on VirginiaTech Bicycle Helmet ratings (https://vtechworks.lib.vt.edu/server/api/core/bitstreams/5e7e952d-8e1c-4926-b090-7898bb005e13/content) and it looks like the high impact is at velocity of 7.3 m/s (table 2). But that is only 16 mph, far lower than my ebike's top speed of 28mph. This means I have to rate the NTA 8776 rating (which tests upto 28mph) higher than Virginia Tech testing. #BikeTooter
Edit: I was wrong! The NTA 8776 test’s drop is only 6.5 m/s, so lower than Virginia tech. So i think VirginiTech supremacy continues!

Such inconsistent information about wether the Lazer Cage Kineticore helmet asses NTA 8776 certification or not :( I've just emailed their support to ask. Several websites claim it does support that, but their official one doesn't and neither does their manual. But it looks so much prettier than the Bluegrass Vanguard Core... #BikeTooter

Recently YouTube's algorithm has decided that because I watch videos about electric commuter bikes (which are usually capped at 20 or 28mph), I am clearly interested in watching people with "e-bikes" (really electric motorcycles) traveling 50mph or more in a 30mph zone on busy city streets.
No, #YouTube, I don't want to watch people blatantly break the law for no good reason and giving people who ride regular e-bikes a bad reputation.
Now 9.5 miles/15.2km with 400 feet/122m of climbing in under 26 minutes is what I call a respectable time for a pre-lunch bike ride. #BikeTooter

Sometimes the terrain makes this unavoidable, but lots of places don't involve disabled people in planning & design so it's not like the utmost is done to make trail infrastructure more accessible in most countries.
This bike is cursed!! Multiple flats one after another (seems the batch of inner tubes I bought all had dodgy valves) now, tyres are inflated fine.. .. but my front mudguard and ebike wired light fell off XD

Really screwed up my front wheel here. Had the front tire under-inflated, made a sharper-than-normal turn, and it put enough lateral force on the rim to bend it out of shape this much. Not sure simply trueing it will help, but that will be my first stop.

One thing that is a PITA about under-seat steering is that the cycle is nowhere near as easy to push along as it is to ride. I have USS for disability reasons. The Haluzak has a flat back tire and right now my car is difficult to put a bike into. The car rack I have won't work for it. If it were above-seat steering, I could walk it to a bike shop from here, but it would be really painful to attempt to do that with USS. #BikeTooter
Nice to hear "being a weight weenie" on this list. One of the arguments an employee of the only recumbent-friendly cycle shop in town made to me in defense of Davis' inaccessible racks was that "we need" those racks so that upright bikes don't fall down.
