I take a walk around Blackheath Funfair 🎡 with a Bessa R, Super Wide Heliar 15mm f/4.5 lens and a roll of Agfachrome CT Precisa, and relive the childhood nostalgia of the funfair 🧒🏼.

Today's ride was 27 miles on the Brommie from Enfield Lock to Sydenham via the Woolwich ferry. Remarkably for a ride from North to South London 95% was off-road mostly canal path and the Green way.

Surprise of the trip was discovering The Pagoda in Blackheath (aka Upper Lewisham). Built in 1760 it really is an oddity. More on The Pagoda here:

Sanjo Rokkaku 1991, 300 x 250 cm by #Jørgen_Møller_Hansen on #Blackheath today with some swifts...

A 'wonderful' flight of the #Jørgen_Møller_Hansen 3m Rokakku from 1991 in low wind conditions... Wind movement was hardly perceptible at ground level, nominally 2mph, at #Blackheath today...

#Jørgen_Møller_Hansen kite flown on #Blackheath on Sunday 21st May 2023. Composite Kite (Della Porta): Eight Rhomboids 1993
each rhomboid: 75 x 127 cm
total size: 302 x 259 cm 3.81 sq metres
tail: 2 x 22 metres
Weight: 2 kg
The long tails did not keep the sail centered in the wind, the flat sail flipped and 'fell' out of the sky! Bow lines have been set for a future flight...

Delicious dinner at Copper & Ink tonight. It was great to stay local in #Blackheath #Lewisham and enjoy very fine cuisine.

A main course of fish and courgette.
A dessert made of coffee panna cota, a pistacho ice cream and a crumble cake on the side.

Martin Linford on the 'bar' again, #Blackheath 19/03/2023 Double Single Eddy Stack 1989 by #Jørgen_Møller_Hansen

Preparations for #Artevento Cervia 2023, seemed sensible to fly this one as it some time since the last flight. One spar pocket needs to be re-sewn.

The images show a loose spar on the second paired sail.

A stack of connected kites flown by one person with three connecting lines. On grass with a road, lampposts wall and trees in the background with a cloudy sky.

Some photos from around Blackheath and Greenwich yesterday.

#LondonPhotography #Blackheath #Greenwich

Looking along a path lined with old-fashioned lampposts on an open, grassy landscape under a sunny sky with scudding clouds.
Looking along a parkland path on a late afternoon with a gate in the middle distance and buildings beyond it, with the masts of a sailing ship in the distance.
Looking at a park view with an old observatory on top of a hill, with a wall in the foreground and a path in front of it. By the path is a bench with people sitting on it.
Looking across a lawn to a road, on the other side of which is a classical, collonaded building with two domes, and beyond that are skyscrapers.

@flyingfish The wind was 12-14mph on #Blackheath but it was mostly steady. I guess that the #Brighton site at #Stanmer_Park is not on the top of a hill!

It was too windy on #Blackheath for comfortable flying of the 8 sail Rev 1.5 stack in the 2007 design by #Jørgen_Møller_Hansen but Ashley Mottram was able to hang on long enough to know that a bit more forwards was needed, the adjustment made, and for me to catch some images... The link lines and cap connectors are new, the sails are getting quite old now!

Walked past this illuminated telephone box on Blackheath the other night – rare to see one with its light on these days, and couldn't help but conjure up lovely nocturnal images of police boxes 😊.

The stack of the 1991 and 1992 #Jørgen_Møller_Hansen Rev1 sails had been slightly reconfigured again, the spars in the last two kites have been replaced. It was a bit gloomy today on #Blackheath compared to 20th March 2022 but great to get the stack configured ready for Cervia #Artevento 2023.
Thanks to Marian Linford for the images.

Continuing the Cervia #Artevento preparations I checked and switched out some rods that had been used in haste when this stack was originally configured as they were a bit 'bendy'. I hope to get this in the air again on #Blackheath Sunday 5th March... #Revolution_Kites #Decorators_Kites

Our walk today from Perry’s Lookdown was hard work. First hard walk since having COVID and I struggled! Didn’t make it all the way down. It was beautiful though.
