Once upon a time, peasants didn't have enough to eat, were malnourished, and worked in the fields all day. The aristrocrats didn't have to work, and sat around eating and enjoying their luxuries all day. So the standard of beauty was to be Rubenesque, chubby and pale. Today, most people have enough to eat, and the poor are overweight, and malnourished. The standard of beauty is to be thin, muscular, and tanned, like the peasants of yore.
In this post-AI world, standards of beauty are radically different. With AI, one can now trivially generate images that artists would have had to spend years of craftsmanship to perfect, and what they would have sold their souls to be able to draw. However, the standards of beauty today are different. If you're churning out slick, colorful AI art that would have been wonderful in the last decade, you're not really using your imagination. The real flex is to use this powerful tool as a medium for fresh images and meaningful storytelling. In the machine world, being human is the ultimate flex.
In the world I come from, freedom is the ultimate flex. In terms of fashion, it means that the more subservient to the system you are, the likelier to compromise your uniqueness to fit in with the crowd, the likelier to put on a professional attitude and behave like a machine, the likelier to put on a "uniform", the lower status you are. You're an NPC. Someone in a livery that is not even worthy of precious attention.
The fashionable people are the slobs, the slovenly, the humans, the imperfect ones.

Perhaps a Re-#Introduction is in order since there's so many more people in this space to share stories and insights with.
I'm an #Alchemist. I manipulate symbols and materials to effect #transformations and thus transform myself.
My practice was revealed to me in a series of trances by an ancient #goddess who has many historical forms. Some of these are the #Kemetic goddesses known as the Eyes of Ra. She recently revealed to me that she would like me to refer to her as #Hathor. I'm not second guessing that advice.
I'm a cis het old guy (58) happy married for 25 years. I adore women. Mostly from afar.
Race- white, blue eyed ethnic jew.
My technique is centered on an apparatus I built based on a design the goddess revealed. I later connected the components and operation symbolically to equipment and processes described in classic #Alchemy sources.
I'm a non-traditional Alchemist. I don't use a forge or do metallurgy. My device is electrical and uses a type of #crystal to focus energy. It can roughly be described as a type of lamp. The picture shows the output of my process. It's called a #Violograph.
It is commonly asserted, and I agree, that the coveted philosopher's stone refers to the practitioners themselves. As the goal of the process it is in reality the transformed person.
This is done by separating the spirit and soul from the #body, changing them and then re-uniting them in the body again. Carl #Jung has some interesting ideas on this.
